We just got the Wilson Cellular antenna system, we don't have 5 bars all time but we now have the use of our Cell phones. We have the Trucker antenna mounted on the top of our 5er's latter. We also got the magnet type antenna for our TV and the Silverado pick-up. However we haven't used it yet. But the antenna for the 5er works well.

And we also just started using the Garmin 2720 Street Pilot it's awesome. And sit's on the dash in the bean bag mount and doesn't move, it also has a remote. I think it will be very helpful in returning to the 5er from roaming around this awesome country we live in. Life is Good....GBY...

You hit that right on the button.

One of the best features of the GPS is to be able to roam anywhere from your trailer in a strange town, make 3 or 4 stops, and simply hit a button and it takes you "home".

Would like to get a c-phone booster.

One condition I would like is the ability to use it other places beside in the MH, like in my city house where I make/recieve most of my c-phone calls. Would like a portable system.

I have cingular/motorola-raz'r with nor visable antenna.

Have trouble with some calls (daughter) who use hands free devices.

Definately want a booster , not a repeater.

What's your recommendation/experience ??

I have a cellphone booster (amplifier) and external antenna that works great. Plugs into the external antenna jack on the phone (Motorola 276), then to the booster which then connects to the external antenna (magnetic mount on the roof). Very dramatic difference (no service to 4 or 5 bars). My amp is very similar to the Wilson Trucker system available from Flying J.

I looked at the raz'r and was told that there was an external antenna connection available (I thought they said it on the bottom - back). I also checked on Ebay and found a couple of external antennas available.

Hi,

Just noticed that I never updated everyone on my antenna problem.

I called the factory and their only suggestion was to use a double layer of adhesive on the window. I was concerned with signal transmission, but he said that it should still be good. I followed the instructions and it seemed to work well --- until the antenna disappeared again, this time after about 3 weeks.

I finally just gave up and bought a magnet mount antenna mast at a truck stop and the problem is finally solved, albeit inelegantly with the wire coming through the door frame.

Bottom line though, is that the antennas and amplifier combo give you service in the truck and trailer when there's no service available with our Verizon phones by themselves.

Do you have two (2) amplifiers, one for the truck and one for the 5th?

No, we just have the one and switch it back and forth when we travel. Only takes a few minutes to reconnect.

Can't believe how well it works and how often we need it. You'd expect to need it when you're in the boonies, but we're not 15 miles from downtown San Diego and for some reason or other we only have 1-2 bars in the campground. It's a must have for us.

Thanks Fred - glad it worked ot for you.

You are better off without the glass mount antenna. They just don't work that well, although they are convenient. Wilson makes some good mag-mount ones (for others, if you are looking). Like you said, the amp makes all the difference in a fringe area - you just won't believe it until you try it - money well spent!!
