Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Does anyone here use the new Direct Foam product by Dawn to do their dishes in their RV?
When I cook I use a lot of pans, knives, utensils etc. (Sometimes there’s not a clean pan left in the kitchen.) At home it's not a problem washing them in our sink after a meal. (I wash our dishes, glasses, silverware and some of my “tools” used to prep a meal in the dishwasher.) But in our FW, with its much smaller sink and the limited capacity of the galley gray water tank, it's not as easy – especially since I need to wash all the dishes I’d normally put into the dishwasher too. I use at least two changes of water - I have plastic dishpans that fit in the sink - and dump one change in to the commode to fill up the black tank. (Our stays are less than three nights so our black tank gets some help with the used dishwater.)
I think if the Direct Foam product worked as advertised it would ease up water use and storage of waste water in the gray tank.
I ask that exact same question of Linda when I first saw it advertised. She had not used it, but I decided to buy it and try it on our weekend trip to Henderson Beach. I really liked it. In fact I use it at home now too. I highly recommend it. We are going on a trip to Alabama next week and I will make sure I have it with me.

Dawn Foam does everything the ads say it will do. We are full-timers who stay at a lot of campsites where we just have electric. I have found it saves A LOT of water when doing the dishes....and REALLY cuts through the grease. Great product.

Thanks everyone for all the input. We're headed out to Cape Disappointment SP on the Washington side near the mouth of the Columbia River for the weekend and I'm going to pick some up before we leave. Weather's supposed to be good - but then it's always good when we're in our FW!
My in-laws have been working the lighthouse at Cape Disappointment off and on all summer, I think they will restart on the 1st. Last name of Melde. A cousin runs the bead and craft store in Chinook, a dangerous place for some.
