Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Any Solo Volunteers?

I checked my finances and decided to look into volunteering a bit.  After years on the road, I'm well aware the solos are at a big disadvantage in traditional work camping.  Do any solos have experience as volunteers?

I looked at some of the "faith connected/based" deals that say they need folks with construction and maintenance experience.  One won't even consider solos (I always knew us solos were all moral degenerates biggrin ).

Another accepts solos and implies a free site with hookups on their website at some locations.   But on further investigation it "seems" the volunteer has to pay for these.  It looks like one of their affiliates in VA needs an experienced roof cutter.  Not this one.  LOL.

I know what my time is worth on the open market and am happy to donate that time but I won't  deplete my savings paying to stay in a dump 900 miles from where I'd like to be.  I at least need a free, legal, reasonably flat lot in which to park on the jobsite.  Hook ups are nice but not required.

Habitat isn't worth a mention- so I won't.no

A few years ago I inquired at federal wildlife/bird refuge in LA and was told they required couples as volunteer to receive a free site.

So!  Any solos with volunteer experience like to offer any insights?  The gulf coast might be nice smile

Hello solo, look at vmmonline.org. Volunteer mobile Missionaries. We welcome singles! All projects are required to provide us a site with hookups close to the job site. When you go to our website feel free to call me if you want to ask more questions. On the home page scroll down to directors for my phone #
