Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Recently we were in a COE campground that had NO cell service, even though we were only a few miles from town. My iPhone 5s was able to see a signal once in a great while, so I'm thinking that if I had an antenna up in the air a bit I might have been able to get a signal. We're full-timers and depend on our Verizon "box" for our Internet service. I spend a few minutes looking at the 3gstore site last night, but ended up not ordering anything yet.
I can easily mount an antenna on a pole on the ladder, which could get the antenna up 20' or so above the ground (yes, I'd take it down before traveling), and then run the coax in through the engine area. The "box" has two antenna connection points on it. We need something that will let us use our cell phones as phones and our Internet for our computers. Suggestions?
Take a look at the Wilson Electronics web site HERE. They have a line of cell amps and antennas. I have had good luck calling them and asking for solutions.

Sounds like you are wanting to amplify the signal for multiple devices - which an antenna alone won't be able to do. It would be useful to your 'box' (which I'm assuming you mean MiFi/Jetpack device like the MHS291L or even the new AC791L?).
A cellular booster is designed to do what you are after.
Thanks. Yes, the booster is what we need. After seeing the prices, though, we'll probably hold off for a bit. I'll spend a month or two figuring out exactly how to mount an antenna on the ladder so that I can take it down for travel and getting the coax routed into the coach. By then we should know which unit will be best for us and have the money to pay for it. In the meantime, if we find a similar place, well, we'll just live without phones and Internet for a day or two and then go into town.
Has Anybody tried the Wilson Amplifiers Antennas? Any idea if they're easy to install or I would have to pay the installation team too. I'm thinking of getting one, not sure if I'd be able to put it up by myself.
