Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

i was notified that I bought something on e-bay and paid for it with PayPal, I did not buy it! I've been violated! And I don't like it.

i always thought I was being very careful with everthing, but I noticed several days ago that I was receiving unsolicitated e-mails. I had never received what others have described as junk e-mails. Don't know if there is a relation to the two or not.

i have changed passwords and that kind of thing.

I contacted PayPal and resolved that problem.

My purpose for this post is for all to be very careful, I thought I was but maybe not enough.

Look out for the bad guys, they are everywhere.

That's nothing "New". This day 'n' age there are Scammers on every corner. Even worse when they have the power of the internet and hide behind your computer screen.
Good thing PayPal resolved your issue because they usually are the worst to get things right.
I know now, that if I purchase anything over the 'Net, I pay with Credit Card. If there is any issue it's resolved with a Credit Card Charge Back with your CC Company.

We've never gotten a PayPal account - just pay using our CC and then we can see the charge posted to our account - have a separate card we use for online purchase and have alerts set with our card companies and deal with them if a card becomes compromised.

The last 3 times we've gotten new cards wasn't because ours was compromised but because we had shopped at Target, Home Depot, etc., just before they got hit, so were issued a new card just in case. Most times the filters at our service providers dump the spam before it gets to us.

And the ones posing as some bank we don't do business with are good for a laugh because the spelling and phrases are so bad.

Sorry that happened to you Jim. I don't think there are more bad people, just more opportunities to be bad .

My credit card companies have so many alerts and security features now that sometimes I feel like I've done something wrong when I use my own card - but it's a good thing I know.

Personally I'd rather trust and be burned, than live my life full of suspicion (not that I think anyone has expressed the opposite). I just hope I always feel that way ))))
