Was it Kelly or Tracy from the Spring RV Dreams Rally who bought underwear or sock separators at BB & B and used them for glass holders? We bought some and cut them to fit. Doesn't work for large bowled wine glasses or the stemless type we also have but works well enough and we just cut them to fit. We have also used clean socks to slip good wine glasses into and just put a decorative pillow in the cabinet to hold them (and anything else breakable) securely. In over a year we haven't had one break or chip even on good china.

I found some foam squares years ago that had cavities for different size glasses. Sit on a rack above dishes in center of coach with a vertical rod to keep them from shifting. 8 yrs and going strong. Our problem has been getting glasses at wineries, have to give some away every year or two.

Like your DW, I too only drink my wine in real glass stemware ... I grinch when I have to drink it from a red solo cup (this only occurs when the park doesn't allow outside alcohol consumption). I protect my 2-3 glasses by wrapping them in hand towels when it's time to travel. I've never had one break along the road...Pam

DW covers all the glass ware with old socks. No breakage in 5 1/2 years full timing.

That was Kelly she has a great solution. With the plastic sock seperators. I. Have a small cabinet right above the sink and use the stemless wineglasses and then put my tea boxes and napkins in between them as natural separators. Works fine and maximizes space. For stemmed wine glasses I went to plastic which work fine for me.

Thanks to everyone for the ideas and solutions.

I have to tell you I'm amazed at how generous the RV community is with their time and knowledge. As we prepare to embark on the 'adventure' what we've learned through this forum will ease our transition. Since we're going from never having had a MH to going full-time we're figuratively 'jumping into the deep end', through you we at least have 'life preservers'. Thanks again.

We just went stemless and got some nice crystal ones that are still wineglass shaped but have flat bottoms instead of the stem. Work great and we do nothing for moving…they sit in the cabinet over the sink with the door facing the rear of the rig. The lip on the shelves and the door latch have worked fine to protect them for 2 years now.

OTOH, I know that Lynn kept all of their stemware and I believe has some sort of protector device she picked up.

X2 on covering them with an old sock, then we put them in a small plastic 8x8" plastic potato bin from walmart.

I alternate "glass" glasses and plastic glasses (polycarbonate stemmed glasses for outside), which works nicely. I have them in a cabinet that has doors on two sides, so it easy to access the "glass" or plastic stemware. If I have two "glass" glasses next to each other, I use something similar to the sock method (cloth bags from bourbon bottles, which fit nicely over the glasses and synch at the stem)--since the cabinet is fairly well packed (on purpose, so things are not likely to shift during transit), I doubt I would have breakage but prefer to be proactive. I have not had any breakage due to traveling down the road .

For what it is worth, we brought our china that we used at the S&B home -- no issues as all. I use shelf liner (http://www.amazon.com/Duck-1100731-Non-Adhesive-12-Inch-20-Feet/dp/B002AS9NAI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1405986442&sr=8-2&keywords=duck+shelf+liner) on the shelf and between each plate and/or bowl. Due to the weight of the china and the tackiness (in a good way) of the shelf liner, they have not shifted in the cabinet during transit.

Although this is likely overkill, I purchased two sided velco (http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Fastening-Tape-0-75inch-Wrap/dp/B004AF9II6/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1405987184&sr=8-7&keywords=Velcro) to secure all kitchen cabinets on travel days. Although it is not likely the cabinet doors will come open during travel (i.e., I know Neil and Connie's cabinet doors have not opened in their two years on the road) -- but I am more concerned about the mess/breakage due to cabinet doors opening, if we experience a really rough drive/situation.

We have 4 stemless wine glasses that came in a box with cardboard dividers, fits perfectly in one of the kitchen drawers so he taped the box to the inside of the drawer to keep it from shifting and we filled the rest of the drawer with our ceramic coffee mugs. Shelf liner in the bottom of the drawer and everything stays puts as we travel.

China, not us. We put it in storage and kept our Corelle along with using a lot of paper plates…fewer dishes to wash that way. Bringing stemware was never a consideration for us, that went into storage as well.

I actually went out and purchased some VERY nice acrylic wine glasses. I also purchased drinking glasses and a pitcher as well. They look like real crystal and are shatter proof. I bought the wine glasses and drinking glasses at Pier One and was in TJ Maxx the other day and found the matching pitcher and some smaller sized wine glasses I liked better. I did keep my Pyrex coffee cups because they last through anything. :)

We stand up all of our glassware in open quart ziplocs in a plastic container. We slide the entire container in and out of the cabinet when we need something. Haven't broken a glass yet.
