Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My son has taken to the road for the summer!!.........he bought a Hotdog Cart and gives his Dad a call......Hey Dad!!! (I could hear the money question coming!!)
So needless to say I have loaned (given) him a little start up money and a small RV ... 96 winnebago Brave 34RQ to begin his summer fantasy!!.....so if your traveling thru upstate NY or VT and see some kid (He's 17) sitting on the side of the road peddling 1/4 pound hotdogs stop and say hi!!...it could just be him!! he Starts at MIT in the fall and this is his first sabbatical in life!!!
Makes his Daddy proud!!!!!

Not surprising, Mike, the example you set goes beyond your gene's. If that model ain't broke why fix it? We like Mike. (to steal and paraphrase an old campaign slogan)
You should be very proud, Mike! It is very rare these days to find teenagers with a work ethic, especially during the summer between high school and college. Not to mention being self employed! You did a fine job! Plus MIT - wow!!!

You have every reason to be proud, too bad we won't be in the NE this summer, I would have found him and bought some food just to reward his work ethic and initiative even though I'm not much of a hot dog fan!! Great job raising him Mike.
Hi Mike, good luck to you & your son. I want call no names but there is a young man that I took hunting an fishing when he was in high school. Me him an my son were very close. An after 25 years we still talk over the phone, I live inthe south an he lives up in the higher northern states. So my story is when he finished high school he went to college up north bought a sandwich wagon an worked his way through school. Went into the navy 8 years later got married, he know has two children a lovely wife.three internet businesses, an went back into the sanwich wangon selling which he has 7 now up the east coast. So who knows.

Great job raising your son Mike. He is smart & and has the initiative to make his own way in the world. At 17 most kids are only interested in playing video games. You have every right to be proud.
Always thought the "Lucky" was from your hospital time......seems like you're darn lucky in the family department as well! I think we make our own luck so congratulations on the reward of being a good dad. It always feels good to help them out when they're willing to put in the work. He'll have a helluva "what I did on my summer vacation" story to tell!
