We've just pulled into Fort Anahuac County Park.  After stopping at the Chambers County Building and getting our "FREE" three day permit from County Commissioner, Bubba Abernathy, we were set to go.  I'm not kidding, 3 days free camping from Bubba, it doesn't get any better than this.

Our own private peninsula.  This is hard to beat.

The park is on Trinity Bay in the Gulf of Mexico just an hour East of Houston.  We found the best site in the huge park, a small peninsula that gives us water on three sided of the RV.  This is definitely an "IT" spot.  You must be fully self contained to camp here and right now we are the only campers here. That's right, 50 acres to ourselves.  There are a half dozen boat trailers that we can see, they must be out fishing.

Imagine many miles of shoreline to ourselves.

The barrier reef is several miles long and there are trails to go "Birding" on in the morning.

So how did we find this gem of a County Park.  Last week a new piece of software was launched by fellow RV'ers, Cherie and Chris of Technomadia.  They have combined government maps and a listing of thousand of public camp sites that are not commonly known or easily found.  The cost of this new software from the iStore was $1.99.  That is a true bargain when compared to a $15, $20 or $30 per night RV site.

I'm already up $58.01.

Today was our first day using this new software.  I think I'll take Terri out to dinner with our savings.  I also owe Cherie and Chris a dinner.
