Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I am not a patient person! Our house has been on the market for 2 months now, and we have had several showings no real offer!! Our other times to sell, they sold to the first person to look. The realtor says it is an "awesome" house, and we have lowered the asking price, so, yes, I am frustrated! We have gotten rid of so much stuff, the house almost echos! I'm just glad we haven't gotten rid of our Christmas tree yet. Anyone else have a long wait?
If you read many of the posts on this forum you'll find many, many people who have had to wait what seems like forever to get to their "go" point. I know that's little comfort but misery shared isn't as bad. Try to distract yourself as much as possible, maybe make test runs or "rehearsals" of what you would do on the road. I'm chomping at the bit too...
The whoa and go of selling is harsh on the mind but it gives you a chance to see whats available and set your plan in stone.
When I sold the house it took awhile and my new home just sat in the driveway.....I planned , pulled out the maps , did all kinds of research for my first 8 hr drive , had to go to the library computers & internet were not available yet. I geared my mind on what I was going to do and how I was getting there.
you can do that now....google earth will let you look at every turn in the trip....every side road , every trail without ever getting off the sofa!!!!
you can check your travel plans look over stops before you get there.
soon you will be out your door !!!!

Any time one is selling something, just keep in mind that there is "someone" out there wanting exactly what you have. We had the misfortune of having to go through three years of trying to sell our home. Keep in mind, though, that our process was right at the time that the economy "went south" in 2008. Eventually, ours sold to a couple where the lady still had an active real estate license. Her efforts got us through with only having to pay our closing costs and no commissions to other realtors because we were selling "for sale by owner."
Keep your patience up in whatever way you can. Frustration only makes the process more stressful.
Terry

We've had our home listed for 5 months. We were one week from closing this past friday and received a call that our buyers home sale fell through, so he's unable to buy ours until he gets another buyer for his. We've moved a lot of things to storage, sold/gave items away. We had told ourselves that until the signing on the day of closing anything can happen & it did! So hang in there and keep planning and looking forward to the day you're fulltiming!!
