Will this Booster work with the 20gb Millenicom Plan?

Only in 3G areas will this booster help, while the Millenicom system is 4G/3G. 4G is now the majority of Verizon's service. The only current booster that helps 4G is the Wilson Sleek 4G-V, http://3gstore.com/product/3547_wilson_sleek_4g-v_lte_amplifier-815126.html, since it boost 700MHZ, where most Verizon 4G is. But Verizon is starting to roll out to the 1700 and 2100MHZ bands soon, which no current amplifier can boost. The FCC changed rules and all newer amplifiers are being held up by new FCC testing. It is a mess.

Bill is correct... the booster market is on hold, and we are looking forward to all-in-one options that include LTE coming to market... hopefully in the coming months.

The booster you have now would work while in 3G mode with the 4620 that Millenicom sells with the 20GB plan. But as the kit description you linked to clearly states - it does not work for LTE on any provider. If you were in an LTE area, you could dial back the MiFi to 3G only mode, and still use the same equipment as you do now if a boost was required (it looks like an all room booster setup, so all devices just pick up the boost without plugging in, the MiFi would work the same.)

If you want to boost LTE, you would need the Sleek 4G-V - which is what we recommended in the book to go along with the current Millenicom Verizon hotspot plan.

However, check Verizon's coverage maps for the area you'll be in - if they have solid coverage, you may not even need a booster (unless the construction of your RV requires it, like our all metal bus does.)

Also, have you checked Sprint's coverage maps to see what coverage you might have with your existing setup? And/or will your park be providing WiFi that you can supplement with?

I used to live in Central Florida, and we also spend a good bit of time there. We had Sprint for many years, and Sprint worked well for us then for the areas we visited.

Cheri,

We will be in Altoona Florida at Alexander Springs Recreation Area. I checked my Sprint map
and there is some service by the area but as it looks on the Sprint map, we are just out of the area
and I am not sure exactly how accurate those maps really are. It may be the case we get minimal signal
and then I can use the booster to get the signal usable, but I won't know till I get there. :)

I don't really care about the LTE and 4G stuff, I am sure in the area we are going
that our data is only 3G tops.

I think the best best for us is to get to Florida and see exactly how well my Sprint
phone works and then make decisions and go from there....

Just figured I would show everyone what a mess we are dealing with . They keep changing the rules regarding cellular amplifiers . We thought we had made it . September 27 testing was completed. (6 months of it) and all paperwork was submitted September 30 to receive our licenses, then the government shutdown happened. They have changed 3 times since then .Here is the latest . Our engineers are currently working on making our new devices meet all these rules.

When Verizon goes with the new frequencies will they still have the old frequencies available?
I have the Millenicom 20gb plan along with the Wilson Sleek Verizon cradle.
Hate to have to buy another booster but if that's what it takes..........

I would think they would keep the old system as long as possible , it keeps a more even spread of usage of their customer base and allows the premium customer base to get a tier up in service.......Remember Verizon and other companies have sub- subscriber plans under other names......(Walmart ,Tracfone,boost ect.)

If you stick with your old MiFi . Your current cradle will be all right as long it does not create interference under the new rules . But going forward if you are going to amplify any new Verizon device it will need to be a 5 band amplifier as all new Verizon phones and data device will be 5 band . The first 5 band device they released was the Galaxy S4. Verizon will now be on 750 MHZ , 850 MHZ , 1700 MHZ , 1900 MHZ , and 2100 MHZ

Do not assume that ONLY 3G will be in the area you are going to. 4G is almost everywhere Verizon is, now. NOT everywhere, but "almost". Making an assumption about 4G not being there is probably a bad one. I would wait until I actually arrived and evaluated the situation before spending a dime. JMO.

Actually I know of two places where Verizon only has 4G service, Hagerstown MD and Long Beach WA. For voice, texting and 1X you are on extended network in those places, but they have their own towers for 4G.
