Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Good luck, we're a week ahead of you and already had 5 offers and signed the papers with the best offer. Hoping you have just as quick and positive response! We're actually moving back to our driveway with our 5th wheel tomorrow so we can finish purging the stuff in the house.
we went into contract may 9th, after showing it to less than a dozen buyers. and we're the first in our town to get a decent price--things are looking up for real estate around here. that all said, we have an estate sale scheduled for this saturday and are moving into our camper (25ft hornet tt-used and a tiny bit icky-moldy) and plan to shop seriously for a fiver during the next few weeks. see you on the road!
Allie and Jim, wishing you the best, we are currently under contract too. Made it through all of the inspections with minimal items to remedy. Now waiting on the bank appraisal. If all goes well, should be able to close before end of November when the buyer's lease is up. If our prayers are answered, we hope to be out of central Ohio before too much snow falls. Pray thing go well for you too!

Our's is under contract too!! Closing is scheduled for 11/6, but we should be out in a few weeks. We've already rented a 5x10 climate controlled storage and moved many of the things we aren't ready to get rid of. Had one yard sale, and sold most of our furniture. We're now sleeping on an air mattress:( We'll have another yard sale once we get moved into our 5'er and stored everything else we want.

We are having the first meeting with a Realtor today at 4:00 to get the low down on how much to list it for and what to fix. Our subdivision is selling very fast (7 days) right now but I don't think we'll put a sign in the yard until next Feb. Hope the activity keeps up until then.
We list ours tomorow. We had it listed awile back but after 6 mths of only 2 shows we pulled it and are relisting with a new agent. Homes don't sale very fast in our area so it may take awhile. Some homes in our comunity have been on the market for more than a year. I am trying to get rid of stuff we don't need. That's probably half our belongings.
Good to hear it is FINALLY happening! I'm betting you 2 are raring to go ! March 1st 2014 our house goes on the market , it can't get here soon enough !
Good luck! We finally closed last week, place was on the market 1 month, took 2 months to get all the details finalized.
For all those counting down ... Time will fly! We started down this path 12 months ago. It has been a lesson in patience which made us slow down while making decisions. We would have purchased the wrong RV, etc.
Have not been on hear for some time. We closed on our house on 10/15, moved out by the 19th and have been settling in at a local campground since. Will be here until 12/20 when we both officially retire. Had our house on the market for a little over one year, but only used a realtor the past 6 months. Just when we were ready to take it off the market for the winter, we got an offer on 9/30 with a proposed closing date by 11/20 and new owners taking possession by 12/1. They were already preapproved for a VA loan and had been doing all their home work before the offer. Then they got someone to take over the lease on their luxury loft apartment but had to be out by 11/1. Since we had met them and really hit it off, it just felt right to help them out by closing earlier if possible. Have never heard of a bank moving a VA loan through so quickly, even with the government slow down. The bank actually called the IRS (supposedly closed during the shut down) and the VA and the buyer called their congressman and pushed to get the needed paperwork through so they could close quickly. So from 9/30 - 10/15, everything was finalized, including inspections, termite treatment, requested items to remedy, title search and loan closing paperwork. Then in one day we listed our Jeep on Craig's list and sold it for the asking price. I still have a company car that was due to be replaced in November, but my employer is allowing me to keep it until my retirement date so they do not have replace it and then be stuck with a new vehicle.
Now we are static full timers until we wrap up work. Wishing the best for all of you who have houses on the market or are getting ready to list them and to those waiting to close, the time will really fly and you will not regret it when it is over. When God decides it is time for your prayers to be answered, you will not believe how quickly and effortlessly things will happen!!!!

As of last Friday, amid a computer crash, we became houseless! The papers finally got signed into new owners names, check made it too the bank, and we are HAPPY!
