Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

you can go to any national park....and get your pass , make sure you bring proof of disability...(SSI/D or other) they issue it there or you can mail it in..........real quick if you pick it up. It took about 15 min to pick mine up!!

Any national park that collects money can issue the pass. Even though the pass is free. Took my SS letter of award of diability. Only took about ten minutes at Mammouth Cave in Ky.

The rangers there were very efficent. They looked at my doucment, took out a large log book entered the number on the card, and we were good to go.

Didn't even know about the pass until a friendly gate guard at a COE park mentioned it. I will always be greatful to him because of all the money he has saved me.

According to each of the websites I have visited, the disability passes must be applied for in person w/documentation..However, none of these sites have information on where one can do so. COE Was not included in the new legislation and cannot issue ATB Passes but do still honor them at their parks. I must not be finding the correct site to locate an office where I can do this. If you have a suggestion or knowledge on this, please point me in the right direction. These agencies listed below are the the sites I have visited.

Just confirmed with this office that they do issue disability passes, got directions to location and hrs of operation.. I will wait till after the holidays to go over there as I am ill with my annual Christmas flu at the moment.

i just picked mine up at Hot Springs National Park a couple months ago. They only looked at my drivers license to verify disability. Took about 5 minutes.

Now that I have it, what kind of discounts does it provide me other than free admission for me and my passengers into any/all national parks.

My step sister was applying to renew her disabled plate at the DMV. The clerk unexpectedly asked her is she had proof of her disability. The only thing she could think of at the time was to take off her artificial leg and place it on the counter. "Is this sufficient proof?" she asked. She was issued the license plate. Moral of the story, if your disability is obviously visible, like wheeling up in a wheelchair sans limbs, then you may not need a piece of paper when a visual verification will do.

My husband took the letter he had from the VA stating his disability and got his. Wasn't difficult or complicated.
