Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Located a CrockPot just the right size for me and my RV. The only bad thing it does not have a temperature control or on and off switch; needs to be unplugged. I took a can of Progesso chicken and rice soup added some small whole potatoes and a half diced yellow onion with a dash of Mrs Dash garlic and tomatoe seasoningblend to taste. Goooood!!!
I never follow recipes and even when i was married I used to do a lot of experimental meals; some great; some good; some so-so and never really had to throw much out. If that happened I could usually find a hungry animal who savored it. I used to only use the cookbooks for baking; making fudge; homemade nut brittle (favorite was made with flavored extracts) and taffies.
Havn't lost my knack for prepping meals, but the baking thing and candies not much now as I need a good size kitchen; not this doll-house one in the RV. JUST CALL ME MASTER-CHEF PIEERE!!!!! LOL! LOL!

It's funny... my wife has about 8 crock pots between the house and the 5th wheel. From a dip size one quart all the way up to 6 quart. She even has a double one with two separate temp controls.
Here's the funny part....most of them even on low the stuff in the pot if it has liquid, the liquid is boiling. I end up unplugging the pot about 15 minutes before we are ready to eat. Otherwise it's too darn hot to eat. There are a couple that have a warm setting and that seems to work well.

One of the best kitchen items I've bought is a rice cooker. I use a lot of brown rice in different things, but have always hated that it takes so long and has to be watched so the rice doesn't end up glued to the bottom of the pan (overcooked). I have a 3 cup rice cooker for the travel trailer, and just bought a 6 cup one for the house. I LOVE IT!! Plug it in, dump in rice and water, turn it on and forget it! It turns itself down when the rice is done so it never burns, and clean up is a breeze! The best part is the little was one was only $14 on Amazon, and the larger one was $19. I've made a few soups/stews in them as well, works really nice for a single that doesn't want a weeks worth of leftovers.
While picking at Amazon.com last night I saw a rice cooker cookbook. Seems you can use your rice cooker as a "mini crock pot." Lots of great ideas in there. Everything from soups to desserts.

Yo Chef Pieere- I agree about the 2QT. It's perfect and it doesn't take up a giant space. I use mine all the time. From pot roast to chicken barley soup to spaghetti sauce and meatballs and everything in between. That crock pot and my small stovetop wok are my two go to's. Happy cooking.
Soody: I am cook, dishwasher, and RV homecleaner. So' Thought I would give myself the title of Chef. LOL!!!! Thought of "Little Miss Suzy Homemaker" but that didn't fit.
