Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Sick of inappropriate gifts!

Gosh! Like accept them; thank them and "pay it forward to someone else. If the campground has a clubhouse ask the owner if you can leave a box with "free stuff" written on it; give it to Good Will; bet a soup kitchen would take them pies; had a boss once who said to "never look a gift horse in the mouth". I could not comprehend what he meant, but I think was meant don't hurt their feelings by refusing.
Have a nice day! Pieere

RE: Sick of inappropriate gifts!

Ahhh, don't send the pie, but we re-gift alot of stuff. Just don't send it to the same person you got it from.
We've been telling people for several years that we don't want christmas or birthday presents. And let me tell you, there are some hard, hard headed people out there.
Take the tasty pies to a local food bank, they will make somebody happy.

Know the feeling well! After several years on the road, our families have become quite adept at expressing their love through quite appropriate gifts for us. It really touched us once they all 'got it'.

Last holiday season we posted a gifting giving guide for RVers, that some of our fellow RVers forwarded to their relatives that seemed to help :) You're welcome to point them here if you like:

The roll of quarters gift idea is one of the best!  We just finsihed up the last of the quaters we received last year.

I think it took about 5 years before we finally had everyone convinced that we couldnt use or have a place to store large items, Some quit sending gifts but the others finally realized that gift cards, especially to restaurants, where the items we could use.

You'll get them all educated eventually.
