Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are finally going to be able to get an RV and live in full time. However we haven't told our families. I am worried about my Mother in law particually. We feel she may call child protected services. Because she doesn't think that it is good for a child to live that way. My daughter is 4 years old. Has anyone else had this problem? Please if anyone has an idea how we would address this if it came up. Thank you so much.
unless there is a prior history , there shouldnt be a problem........or dont tell them at the moment. go live your life...........move across state lines and re establish your legal residence.......
that on its own will stop or at least make her problem a little harder to do................
and most of all........CYA.....contact an attorney or Get some real legal advice thru legal services!

Ravenlotus, isn't 4 years old PRE-school, anyway? What's to worry about now? Go. Live YOUR life and don't let ANYONE intimidate you unless, of course, there is more to the story. Just keep your business to yourself and carry on, or does your husband feel he owes his mother an explanation for everything?

Thank you everyone. We were just concerned. But yeah, my daughter is just going to begin Preschool as soon as we get our finances in order. and for now we have to stay around here, just so we can save money and fix few things on our RV. We are hoping to be traveling all over in about 1-2 years. and begin full time in about 3-5. however we will be living in the RV full time.
Most people fail to realize that each state has "compulsory age" of education that is MUCH later than what we are led to believe. In Washington for example, the compulsory age for education is age 8. This means that up until the age of 8 - you have NO OBLIGATION to your state laws regarding schooling your child, no reporting that they are homeschooling, no registering in any way etc.
You probably have a few years before any phone call would be taken seriously anyway.
