Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
When we lived in Virginia in our pre full time days we had a vanity license plate on our motorhome: "R SANITY". Since we've hit the road full time and now are SD "residents", using a personal mailbox address, we tried to get a SD vanity plate when we changed everything over to SD. At the DMV, they refused to let us have a vanity plate, just gave us a regular plate because we do not have a physical address.
Since then, I've seen several fulltimers blogs where they have a SD vanity plate with no physical address. Is there a way to obtain an vanity plate in SD with no physical address or was the DMV mistaken?
Best Regards!

Huh.. unless they've changed something in the laws, we had no problem getting our SD vanity plate with just using our MyDakotaAddress address. We got it back in early 2010. Just downloaded the form off their website and mailed it in with the fee. A couple weeks later, the plates showed up in the mail.
I found the form as you suggested and will give it a go. Wish I was able to get that done when we were in Sioux Falls at the DMV in person. When I asked the DMV counter person, she was the one that told us we could not have it. When I said that was strange, she called over the supervisor who seconded the "regulation".
So we're sending it off in the mail to see what happens.
PS: Really enjoy your blog, you have put lots of great information on it. Thanks, again!
Best Regards!
