Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

I cleared the first hurdle, keeping in theme of the Olympics

I sold a piece of property and we closed on it today,( first hurdle cleared) I will be able to get myself out of debt and have cash to buy an RV with some left over. whooray!! I;m on track to start my adventure late next spring early summer. The next hurdle will be selling my house, which will happen after the first of the year, I have a buyer lined up for that. Everything so far is starting to fall into place.  I;m going to continue to go slowly one hurdle at a time.

The biggest hurdle  though is health insurance, I still haven't figured that one out yet, that has gotten a bit frusrating but I still have time to keep working on it, hopefully over the next few months that hurdle will be cleared too.

Now I can start looking seriously at RVs over the next few months and get something in place for early next spring..

I;m excited!!

John

Sounds like you'll have plenty of time to get a feel for what you want for an RV, which is great. Good luck with the hunt. Go for the Gold.

Have you been on the road before? I admire your hutzpah. I am more cautious; first I'll do little trips and then graduate to month trips. Seriously, I know I am going to be up for it but I am still a bit attached to the S&B. Pretty soon though, lol, probably after trip #1!!

Went to Camping World today and bought my first goodies for my TT. That was fun :)

I can relate Bozzi.

I think there might be others who have insights into the health insurance issue.

I am planning on doing the same thing, also and have the realtor coming tomorrow, to possibly list the house on the market.

My problem is I don't have the money to purchase an rv until the house sells (meaning there would be a period of time I'd be without a 'home.')

And I have a couple animals that I want to take with me in the rv, so I'm really wondering how to handle this.

I wonder if I can purchase an rv pending the sale of the house or some odd transaction.

Best of luck to you.
