Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Dinette chairs

So, we just picked up our 5th wheel last week.  The dinette chairs are a fabric.  We have a 2yr old.  Not a good combination.  I had a brilliant idea, it worked and I just wanted to share with you guys.  I purchased 2 pillow cases and slipped one over the top of the chair and luckily, our chairs have storage under the seat cushion, so it lifts up!  Slipped the second pillow case over the seat.  Perfect fit!!  I just might do all 4 chairs in something bright to bring a little color in the rig!

It's amazing how creative you can get with little ones around. That 2 yr old will keep you busy....as if you didn't know. Good idea on the pillow cases, makes cleaning easy!

Now, that is a darn good idea, especially for clean-up.  I would imagine all of us could mimic that idea, even if it were only for protection of the fabric from visiting grandchildren.

Some older folks (ahem) have a case of uncordinated lips and tend to drop food when eating.  If it weren't for the fact that my chest dropped some time ago and now resides in the middle, I'd have to use this idea to protect our furniture.  As it is now, all I have to do is remove my shirt and wash it.

Looking at:
F-350/Ram 3500 type truck, possibly an Airstream or a smaller 5th Wheel.

However, there is still time to change the configuration, just a plan.

You might also want to slip a plastic trash bag over the seat cushion before you slip the pillow case over. This will keep any spills from penetrating the original upholstery.

We have 2 dogs and I was thinking of doing this to keep them off the chair fabric.  I thought maybe the long bodypillow cases might work for the long bench back cushions.  Hope it works if not back to the drawing board.  Also if you need moisture protection Bed Bath and Beyond has plastic chair protectors, 2 per pkg for about $10.00.

Twin size or crib sheets work well for couch ....easy chair covering and the elastic keeps them in place.....I use them to keep pet hair off the furniture

Love the chair cover idea, might be a great idea for Tazzy Kat who LOVES to deposit as much fur as possible on chairs (she thinks underneath the dining table is her "play place" to hide from us), washing pillow case covers might be much easier than constantly vacuuming or rollering our chairs!!
