We have one in our SB for our grandson to sleep on, it's confortable and durable, inflates quickly with the pump. He's 3 so he doesn't complain much at this point in his life.

We have one in th 5er and it works well. Inflates quickly and you use the same pump to deflate it and it is quite comfortable. The only thing we are thinking about is getting a twin air mattress for when we have one kid visiting or a couple of grandkids. Mostly because we still want to be able to use the couch when the bed is out.

We've used one for about 10 years for guests. They all say it's the most comfortable temporary bed they have ever slept on. It gets used about 6 times per year. Sometimes just for a weekend, but once in a while for a week or two.

Another option for you toddler, just use the couch. We have found in the RV our couch, due to the design makes a great single bed. The couch has removable pillows that are used for the back rest. When they are removed it leaves the bottom cushions which are as wide as a single bed. My 93 year old Dad sleeps on it. We put a plastic cover over the bottom cushions (in case of an "accident") and then sheets and blanket to make up his bed. He likes to go to bed early, if we had to fold out the sleeper for him it would limit our living space while we enjoy the rest of the evening.

He used to be restless at night so we placed a chair in front of the couch to keep him from rolling out. Now he doesn't move.

When we travel, our grown (Special Needs) daughter travels with us. For us, it got to be a big hassle having to unpack the air mattress, inflate it, make up the bed, and then do it all in reverse the next morning.
So we had the sofa in our fifth wheel converted to a true pull out sofa bed. We bought the "innards" from Legget and Platt and had a local upholstery store do the installation into our existing sofa. The mattress on the pull out is an Air Dream mattress so it is very comfortable for our daughter and the bed can be left "made-up". It is MUCH more convenient for us and our daughter finds it so comfortable that we now have a hard time getting her out of it in the morning :{).

Was wondering if you still have the air dream mattress and if so hows it done over the years. We recently up graded rv's and the new one has a sleeper sofa and as you know the mattress is a joke. We take my 82 yr. old mother with us alot and I need something to make the sleep comfortable. Seen where you mentioned the air dream back in 2012. just looking for something to make the sleep more comfortable for her and guest.

When our grown kids and their SO's visit, we use the air mattress that came with the rig, but we remove it and place it on the floor. It has its own built in pump. In the morning, we just deflate with the sheets and stuff on it, fold it in thirds and put it up on our bed for the day. When we are ready for bed, we carry it back down and re-inflate. Easy peezy.

I bought Intex Pull-out Sofa Inflatable Bed for our end of summer camping trip, and I couldn't have been happier with the sofa. It stayed inflated over the entire weekend even though the instructions said it might stretch and need more air during the first few uses. At night, it unfolds nicely into a queen size bed. The back was like a headboard and the sides help block some of the distracting light and shadows when trying to rest. It's also nice to have the cup holders; I've spilled way too many cups laying them on the tent floor. In the morning, it folds right back into a sofa, freeing up a lot of space in the tent.

The top surfaces are soft and the bottom surface is thick vinyl. The sofa inflated and deflated easily in 3 separate sections. It was used both inside the tent, and outside on dirt and pine needle covered ground on top of a tarp, but otherwise no white-glove treatment and not a single leak; just brush off any sharp objects and remove any branches or rocks underneath before using it - common sense stuff! Dust and dirt wiped right off with a damp towel.

Keep in mind that this is a 6 year old thread. Also, for the benefit of carolinakids' question about the Dream Mattress, The Harveys haven't logged into the forums since October of 2016, so they may never see your question.

Check out a "Cool Gel" memory foam mattress. Amazon sells them in a RV queen size. They are not as hot as a normal memory foam mattress as they breath. You can get them in various thickness's from 8" to 10". Cost is usually under $300.

One problem with the air mattress is the condensation and the underside of the foam topper is wet in the morning where it contacts the mattress
