Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hawaii to Fernley/Fallon will be a bit of a shock to the system. We overnighted in Fernley in early November one year and our water hose froze. So be prepared and you will be fine.
Congrats on going full-time, it is always adventure.

Actually the shipper's map for directions to pick up our container included "Kayak 2,750" miles from Hawaii to Oregon. (Can't remember the exact number of miles, but Bob and I laughed and laughed over that one!)
Thanks for the water hose info. We're thinking of buying the heated water hose kit. Does anyone have any experience with those? Are they worth the money? If we don't get the heated water hose what other options are there to keep the water line from freezing?
We see you expect to be full-time in Dec. 2011. How's that coming?
We're in the final stage of going full time. Bought our truck and 5th wheel in Sept. in Portland, Oregon and will pick them up in less than two weeks, then off to Fallon.
We don't leave the water hose connected if temperatures are well below freezing. We use the hose to fill the freshwater tank and then put the hose away. It's near impossible to keep the CG spigot from freezing, but you can leave the water dripping in the sink, just make sure the gray tank has enough room.

Thank you for the info. We've read the average temp in Fallon in Dec. is 17 degrees F. Brrrr. I'm glad I have lots of warm clothes. But I think I may need heated blankets!
Amazon at Fernley does not pay utilities on your site. It may be cheaper to use propane instead of electric. I forgot to mention that we don't leave the sewer hose deployed in freezing weather either...
