Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Sage died quietly at home today. At 14 1/2 her heart just gave out. She loved to travel with us. Nothing was better to her than riding in the truck. She was always a hit in the campgrounds and loved meeting new people. She didn't much care for their pets, but she loved people...
We'll miss her everyday, but we'll especially miss her on travel days... She was always so happy to get in the truck and hit the road...
Safe travels Sage... We love you.

We are so soory for your lose. Those furry kids can be a great companion. And when they are gone our heart breaks. Why do they have such a short life span?
We've had several fur kids and after the last one passed we decided no more for awhile. Maybe when we go fulltime.
Carol and Johnny....so sorry for what you had to go through today. We lost both our babies this year and it's hard to let them go....but it does get better with time. I did see in a rest stop the other day a man walking his boxer and my heart sank for Coco....but we decided not to get another dog....too painful when they leave us.
Carol, It is with teary eyes that I say, so sorry for the loss of your dear Sage. We who have loved an animal understand this pain. At least she was able to stay with you at home. And with you in your heart forever. Pat

So sorry to hear about Sage's passing, Carol. We've been through it several times and hate that part of pet ownership. The love and devotion they give you while they're here make it all worth while though!

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. It sounds as though Sage had a good life with you two -- traveling and meeting people was a plus. You must have great memories.
I didn't become a pet owner until I was 47 years old, but becoming a pet owner has been one of the best experiences, if not THE best experience, in the past five years of my life. Your description of Sage reminds me of our dog. He loves to ride in our pickup, so we're hopeful he'll love traveling in a motor home as well. He has been an "only" pet his entire life, so he too is not particulary fond of other's pets, but he loves people.

I'm very sorry to hear about this. I've been through it many times and it never gets easier. I know that people who have never bonded with fur buddies will never understand. We love them and care for them, and they return that love without any conditions attached.
Why are their lifespans so short compared to ours? It's probably better that way even though it's painful when they move on. What would happen to them if they outlived us?
Maybe it's one of God's ways of reminding us of what we are supposed to be doing in this world - caring for life and for each other.
Some dogs are special dogs, even though they are not a first dog or an only dog or a last dog. In a crowd they stand out, and in the heart they have a special place. Please know that we share in your grief as we have loved and lost many as well.
Hey folks, you should read the wonderful tribute Carol wrote on her blog. I posted my response there. Fur babies are just like children in our family. We love our animals and mourn with they cross that rainbow bridge.
