Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Medical Insurance for South Dakota residents

I've been researching becoming a South Dakota resident.  When I called my health insurance company (husband & I are self-insured & in our 50's), they quoted me a monthly rate that is TRIPLE what I pay here in Colorado. no  We can't afford that type of increase!

So any of you folks who are domiciled in SD, what health insurance company do you use?

Thanks for your input!

Cindy T

Cindy, When we went full time we did a lot of checking and found it wasn't worth the trouble to change our domicile from Colorado.Your situation may be different but for us we just use a UPS Store for our address.

My wife and I are in the process of becoming SD residents.  Have registered our rig and vehicles so far, and just last week secured a health insurance policy for her.  We were very pleased with the services of Mark Haines, a SD health insurance and medicare supplement broker.

Not sure what you are accustomed to paying but we were satisfied.  We chose a high deductible ($10,000) policy that provides a certain amount of preventive care each year.  He can be reached via email at markhainesinsurance@hotmail.com of at his office at 605-362-6047.

Good Luck!

Terry

Sorry that this is off-topic, and I don't mean to hi-jack the thread.  However, I couldn't help but notice we now have another "Terry" with a Mobile Suites and an F450.

Welcome to the forums, Terry and Lu.  There are a lot of helpful folks here.  Also, if you've not been there, SOITC (Suites Owners International Travel Club) also has a website and forum.  The folks on it have been helpful in answering questions about the Suites models when we were doing our research.  Over there, I'm known as "millerjnt."
