Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
According to many online forums, Verizon is experiencing an nationwide 4G/LTE outage. This seems to be impacting many. According to Twitter Verizon reports:
"We're aware of an issue with #4G#LTE connections & our network engineers are working to resolve quickly. Will update here."

Verizon is going as far as to state that if you have a 4g device this event can cause you to have problems even in 3g areas as the issue is with the authenticiation of the device into their notwork.
HTC Thunderbolt's like the one we have are running 1X while this is happening. It has something to do with the particular radio they use that keeps them from using 3G. It doesn't matter if a Thunderbolt is in a 3G or 4G area, they are running 1X with lots of users complaining. Some have been able to make them work in 3G with some deep setting changes, but many have not been successful. I haven't tried the settings changes, I can wait. I know Verizon wants this fixed since tomorrow they are introducing the Samsung Droid Charge, their second 4G (LTE) phone and these phones cannot be activated during this outage, which is also true of a new Thunderbolt.

We have 3G again this morning. Now everyone is waiting to see if Verizon will launch the new Droid Charge today or wait. The Droid Incredible 2 and a new rugged Casio Android phone are launching today.

Verizon has now resolved the issue and are turning the service back on market by market. In the Chicago area everything was functioning around 7am this morning so your service should be coming online at any time!
Also, if anybody is using the new HTC Thunderbolt you may need to do some additional changes to get up and running. Follow these steps if your Thunderbolt doesn't come back online:
Dial ##778# and hit send
* A pop-up window named EPST will show up giving you 2 choices: View Mode and Edit Mode. Pick: Edit Mode. * Enter the Password: 000000 * Go down to Modem Settings and pick “Rev A“ * You’ll want to choose enable and click OK, hit the menu button and then press “Commit Modifications.” * Restart your phone and you should see 3G is working
last step (may not be necessary)
dial *#*#4636#*#* go to phone info, then set preferred network type to CDMA auto (PRL)
