Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

how to improve phone quaility

I bought a Droid 2 several months ago .. I am finding that I have terrible connection at my stick house.. We live in the country... I wanted to be able to use it with my computer and get rid of my house line.. What can I do ...Thanks I know I will get an answer...patti

You need a wireless amplifier of some sort or some kind of proximity amplifier. A Wilson Sleek is the simplest, about $130 mail order. Wilson also makes larger solutions that amplify multiple phones and aircards as explained here for both home and RV. http://maximumsignal.net/ also has good wireless setups including their new SCT model which a few advance users have including me.

Try a Wilson Sleek. Works wonders with a MiFi card, and your Droid will fit...

The Wilson Sleek is a popular option for people that want to improve connectivity at home or on the go. Rather than just purchasing a Sleek and hoping it works, I'd recommend doing a site survey first because this is a home location - How to do a site survey

Depending on the results you get, the Wilson Sleek may be a perfect solution or you might need something more powerful for your location.

OK.. I am lost.. where am I to find this connection manager software..to check the signal level...This is all new to me.. and I do not talk in computer ...patti

I'm not sure if the Droid 2 has a RSSI menu system or not on it. You could check on the Android market place, I know they do offer some download applications you can use to check your signal levels.

If you can't find your specific signal levels you can take your phone and walk around the property taking notes of your signal bars. Let us know how many signal bars you get in and around the outside of the property. That will indicate how much signal is in the area and if an amplified solution will help you.
