Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I'll admit that I am a DROID fan. While other family members are are iPhones users, I picked DROID for my first smart phone. Main reason for doing this was based on carrier coverage. Currently we are on ATT. Many fulltimers are not. I got tired of waiting for the expected announcement that iPhone will partner with Verizon. I ran into an interesting article about DROID phones that I thought I would share with the forum http://www.newsweek.com/2010/10/03/how-android-is-transforming-mobile-computing.html Enjoy the info.

If I needed to get a smartphone today I would run out and get a Droid X on Verizon. It is big, but very usable. Multiple friends are happy with them.
My wife is even coming around so maybe in February or March when we can change phones we might move to a Droid. But remember that only Verizon can call their Android phones, "Droid", since only they paid George Lucas. Calling an Android phone on AT&T a "Droid" could get you a visit from Darth Vader with a light saber.
Passport America just came out with an Android app, which would be great since we have been hitting PA campgrounds a bunch. They have had an iPhone app a while. I think these are free apps.

Just got my Droid 2 last week. Still learning how to make the best use of it.. Yes it is much larger than my ATT flip phone.. I have to carry a purse now... yuk... but I am liking the phone. patti
The greatest thing about any smartphone is the ability to instantly go online and get any information you want or need. I am constantly amazed when I need to get some detail or information and I grab my iPhone, do a quick Google search and bang....the info is there.
It's getting to the point where I use my smartphone more frequently than I do my laptop.
Warning- There's a gaming app that is highly addictive. A week ago my DW added "Angry Birds" to my smartphone.... It's one of those games where you pick it up to play for a few minutes and the next thing you know 2 hours have gone by.
