Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Modifications for Pets

Here we go:  Hubby had a GREAT IDEA (rolling my eyes) and said that he thinks we should put our little sofa in the back of our truck (covered shell on it but the idea is kind of hill-billyish, me thinks) and then strip the carpeted area (good idea) and put down nice floor covering to complement our wood kitchen floor (REAL WOOD, much less). That part is a good thought! Then he wants to get a doggy gate, another doggie bed for the youngest of our crew (the shih tzu sleeps with us - ahem) and let that area be for the two other doggies. We have our dinette set up as a day bed for now, so there is seating and laying down room there, so taking out the sofa will not be TOO bad (but storing in the back of the truck????).

We have ordered a screen room (Vacation'r from Carefree of CO) that we will pick up at daughters tomorrow. I had it shipped there. It will be about 19' x 8' so that, to me, will be the daytime doggie and husband area. Heck the old dog crawls up on the little sofa now at night (covered up to protect it) and so why do we need to make space for his bed and another one? But I like the new flooring idea, WITH our sofa on it! Have to think about this. I hate to pay storage for that sofa but in the back of the truck????

The litter box issue may have been solved. We are maybe adding a thin wardrobe in the bedroom (bolted to the wall in unused space) and I can give up the under my closet drawer. Just move it out, slip in cat box (changed daily) and VIOLA! Free tub/shower up and keep littter out of that area. We use pine for litter and it works well as long as it is changed. Better than clay for sure. I hate that stuff.

The vacuum situation is controlled for now. The "house" doesn't smell as pristine as I'd like but there is a payoff. We love our four legged pet companions and I'd rather use deodorizers than part with a one of them.

We have our dogs (3) too. We couldn't imagine life without them. We also removed our carpet. We lucked out, there was vinyl flooring underneath. We like it much better without the carpet. We have a throw rug instead.

Would love to know how the screen room is working out. That is on my wish list.
