Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Yes, we took the course, established our budget, paid off everything and became debt free before we decided to fulltime. We were so impressed by the progam that we helped lead some courses and saw many people reap the benefits by getting their financial life in order. We continue to be on a budget and it is working well for us. Our budget is higher than Howards and Lindas as we do not have business to place some of our expenses in. We do volunteer work which is very rewarding and it keeps the expenses down however. We have been fulltiners for over 2 years now.

Yes we have. We have been following him for several years. We took the class last year. It really does work. My son thinks I an obsessed with him. I listen to him every night. It keeps you focused. You really do feel like you got a raise once you start doing a budget and know where your money is going.
I have never used his course but I used the Transforming Debt into Wealth Program by John Cummuta.. www.tdiw.com to help reorganize by budget after I got into some large debts when I quit work to care for my grandson who was ill for 3 years... I think it is a wonderful program the best $65.00 I have ever spent... patti
You are wise to get debt free before going fulltime. Being debt free gives you a lot of flexibility during the "hard times". We took a major hit to our investments this past year (well, duh - so did everyone) but were able to hunker down, do some workamping, and make it through the year. It would have been a lot "tuffer" if we had had any debt. We were living off our investments but starting this month have an income stream coming from our pensions and Social Security. Dave Ramsey is not the only plan for living a debt free lifestyle but his plan is sound and it works.
Our daughter works for him in Nashville and has been living debt free for the past few years. She is working on her Master's degree and paying cash for it (no student loans). Wise young lass, that daughter of ours.
Bottom line is, go for it - you'll be glad you did!!!

We completed the Financial Peace by Dave Ramsey @ a local church about two years ago It is probably the best decison we made to help us acheive our goal of being able to full-time soon. His motto is to "live like no other, and live like no other". We learned so much and it really strengthed our marriage. We now have a strick budget, use the envelope (cash) system, and do not use our credit cards at all. We are almost debt free.
We love his snowball concept and watch our debt go down each month with a sense of joy and happiness. It's great to take control of your destiny, rather than have debt and banks take control of you. We also now have a good emergency fund that helps when "stuff" happens.
It did take us awhile to adjust to a budget. We hope you find the classes to be helpful. We met a great group of people and it helped us to know that we were not alone. We also listen to his radio broadcast to help keep us on track. Start with the baby steps and before long you'll be shouting from the roof tops...We are dept free!

Thanks to everyone for your replies. We are in week 6 and already have payed down one year of our snowball. We started with a 4 year snowball and after doing the insurance lessen we cashed out our whole life policy. That melted more than a year off the snowball. This is getting exciting... Fulltiming here we come....
Some friends of ours, that we camp with, recently did the course in their small group at church. We are hoping to take the Dave Ramsey course in the near future.
We are Dave Ramsey fans. Took the course many years ago. It gave us the boost we needed to have a 4 year plan to FT. That happened 3 years ago and with the economy the way it is now............what a blessing we took the course when we did !!!

We took the course last year and have been following him for approx 4 years. Being debt free also helps with the stress at work. We will be fine if one or both get layed off. Once our son is out of high school we will be hitting the road debt free.
