Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Any full-timers doing car wrap advertising?
Permalink Closed

Are they any full-time RVers out there that have or have had their tow vehicles of possibly there RVs or fifth wheels wrapped with vinyl graphics as a moving billboard?  We are doing all the planning and preparing for our full-time RV life while we are waiting for our house to sell and we've been trying to think of more ways to bring in extra income once we are on the road. We would very much like to sign up with an agency where you get paid to drive (sell advertising space on your car) but would like to here about any warnings, if there are any and how to go about it. Is it possible to sell advertising space on a fifth wheel too?  Look forward to hearing from everyone.  Thanks.

I cannot give you any facts or figures about advertising on RV or TOAD, but I had an opportunity to see a Motorhome this past year decked out with a wrap advertisement, from Front to Rear,  for Jelly Belly Candies.

If I ever find some one again and they are stopped, I would be curious as to the facts and figures of doing the wrap advertising on their vehicles.

I am sure they must be stared at everywhere they go, but isn't that the point of having it on the vehicle.

I read somewhere that some RV parks will turn you away if your rig is a rolling billboard...just a heads up...

A big Class A with a complete wrap parked next to us a while back.  It was very distracting having all the color and larger than life "people" staring back at us.  We never complained to management, but plenty of others did and the owners were allowed to stay their planned several days, but were told they could not return as they had planned to do. (The owners were very disappointed as they were building a house nearby and had hoped to be in the RV park most of the next several months).

Good Luck with that Idea. I to thought it would be a great way to earn some income while full timing. After several letters and emails to company's I never received one answer, not even from the company that I worked for four forty years. I also talked to another guy from Florida with the same idea and he sent out over four hundred letters and never received one answer. If you do manage to get one be prepared to do a lot of driving in big cities and areas that you may not want to be in. You can contact me thru my web site blog if you would like to know more info. no Gummy

Wonder if your RV would be considered "Commercial" and subject to licensing as a commercial vehicle?

Technically, your RV would be considered commercial, and if a DOT guy was having a bad day, or wanted too, you could be held to commercial standards. There is not an iota of doubt in my mind about this. Is it likely to happen...no, I don't think so, but you just never know.
