Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I love to read and would love to have one of the e-book readers. Does anyone have one? which one? do you like it? My eyes aren't as good as they once were so screen size / legibility would be important to me. Thank you for any suggestions, experiences, etc.
I have the Amazon Kindle, and really like it. You do not have to have a computer to download the books. You can do it anywhere, and in seconds. You mentioned the print size, and this is also important to me also as I have MS and have optic nerve damage from it, and it has numerous size print from very small to very large. Here is a few things they advertise about it. It is light to hold also. Revolutionary electronic-paper display provides a sharp, high-resolution screen that looks and reads like real paper. Simple to use: no computer, no cables, no syncing. Wireless connectivity enables you to shop the Kindle Store directly from your Kindle—whether you’re in the back of a taxi, at the airport, or in bed...or RV. Buy a book and it is auto-delivered wirelessly in less than one minute.
Take a look below. Hopefully you can get on, but if not just go to Amazon and search Kindle.
After several trips to Barnes and Nobles spending $$$ on books it pays for itself in no time if you are a big reader. Lot's more info on Amazon site than I can give you here, but I wanted to try and answer your question to the best of my ability. Check it out. Good luck, and happy reading. Arlene

I agree with everything that Travelin Duo said except:
“You do not have to have a computer to download the books. You can do it anywhere, and in seconds.”I have had my Kindle since February and I think it was made for RVers. It is an instant book store anywhere you go and no issues of where to store more books or adding weight to your rig. You can also subscribe to magazines and newspapers and have them waiting for you when you get up in the morning.
However, the wireless service doesn’t work in Canada, Alaska, Montana or most of Wyoming but it has worked remarkable well most other places. Amazon is using the Sprint Wispernet system; if you go to Amazon you can check on the coverage of the Wispernet system you can see where it does and doesn’t work. Wispernet Coverage Map When out of range of the Kindle wireless service you just download books to your computer and then transfer them to the Kindle. We have been tour in Canada and Alaska for months and downloading books to the computer and then to the Kindle is very easy and straight forward. If you are on the fence about buying a Kindle Amazon is running a $100 off promotion “for a limited time”.
“Get the Amazon Rewards Visa Card and Get $100 Off Kindle Thanks to Chase, you get $100 off Kindle when you get the new Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card. Limited time only.
