Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are on staff so we will be there a few days early. I suspect we will be quite busy during the rally with our job, but hope to still have time to get together with people.

We won't be going to the Escapade but we will be headed west after the RV Dreams Rally. We will be on our lot in Custer, SD enjoying the beautiful Black Hills scenery and weather. If you are in the area, stop by to see us.
We have been thinking about it but are still undecided at this point and have not signed up for any of it. If we do, we are thinking about doing the Boot Camp, also.

We had signed up for both the RV Dreams Rally and the Escapade but since then have had to cancel our trip to the RV-D Rally due to unexpected circumstances. We are slowly making our way from California to the Escapade since we planned on spending the rest of the summer in Wyoming on the Flaming Gorge. We would love to meet any RV Dreamers attending the Escapade.

Jan, I had to cancel the RV-Dreams rally, too. But like you, I'll be at the Escapade. I'm arriving on the 25th, doing the Devil's Tower trip on the 26th. I also plan to attend the Celtic Festival that first weekend (pre-official Escapade) that is being held at the Cam-Plex. Think it's like $6 a day or $10 for both Sat/Sun.
We are arriving on the 28th and leaving on the 5th. The ones we attended in California were great fun. Thanks for the link! I think our heads will be spinning with everything going on and this being our first RV Rally ever! We are really excited and looking forward to it.

I just added your blog to my reader.....thanks for the link. I look forward to meeting....we'll just have to figure out the when/where. I'm not real good at remembering who's coming....LOL! Or even where I met them online...so stay in touch!!
Barb and I are arriving on the 25th and taking two tours. We are going to the Little Big Horn battlefield and the Mt. Rushmore/CrazyHorse Monuments. This is going to be a great rally. We are looking forward to meeting all the RV Dreamers also. Froggi, it will be nice to see you again too. We are also looking forward to seeing some folks that we met at the Casa Grande Gypsy Journal rally Big Greg and Judy. Right now we are in the Golden Co. city campground along the Clear Creek in Golden. It is fantasticly beautiful here. There is so much to see and do in this town. I can't recommend this park enough. With full hookups and the Good Sam discount it is $28.91 a day. I hope some of you folks that are on your way to Gillette will try this campground while we are here. See ya there, Ray and Barb Scrafield
Clear Creek Park is a great campground in Golden, CO. We liked all the bronze statues along the creek and the main street of town, which is a short walk from the campground. One warning is to use the campground's directions with your RV, your GPS or mapping program might want to bring you in a route that is not as big rig friendly. We have started our journey east to the Escapade. We are in Pasco, WA visiting friends. We lived for many years in this area so we have roots here.

We are looking forward to meeting you at the Escapade. Did it snow in Pasco today? We are about 350 miles from you in Florence, MT visiting family. Had snow/rain mix here but friends from Illinois visiting in Kalispell called and had the white stuff on the trees. Leaving here toward the end of the week to visit friends living in Butte. Any camping recommends for that area?

No snow in Pasco, just wind and some rain. The campground is at 485' elevation, according to my GPS, so too low to have snow. Snoqualmie Pass on I-90 did have 7" of the stuff but the pass summit is 3,022'. Yesterday it was 46 degrees as we came over Snoqualmie Pass so we are glad we missed the white stuff. The forecast for all the West is a warm up starting Wednesday, so things are looking up. We should be in Missoula on Saturday and then we are planning to head to Yellowstone NP before the Escapade. We are due the 24th in Gillette.

If you are coming through Missoula and need propane you can get it for .99/gal at Bretz RV and Marine. They are just off I-90 along South Reserve Ave. We have used a lot of propane with all this cold and rainy weather and will be filling it up there when we leave.

We will be picking up propane at Bretz on Monday when we leave Missoula, we scoped it out a while ago by car after going to The Shack for dinner. It looks like we are just behind you since we left Pasco and stayed in Kamiah last night. Tuesday we are getting a free place to park at some friends in West Yellowstone for five nights, I am sure we will find a way to repay them. Then on to the Escapade.

We were to leave here (Anaconda Fairmont RV Park) on Monday but after seeing this Passport America campground and what the area has to offer have extended until next Monday so we can explore a bit. We will head east for the Escapade from here but haven't anything specific planned. Wave as you go by Exit 211 and we'll catch up with you at the Escapade!

We are now parked at the Escapade in our staff spot and have had a few meetings. Diesel is $4.439 (cash price) at the Flying J and unleaded is $3.759 at more than one station. Highway 59, with the Flying J, the Super Wal-Mart and many of the other places including restaurants is under construction so it is a bit of a mess in that part of town. The CAM-PLEX area, where the Escapade is, is not under construction and looks like a great place.
Edit: Been told the price jumped to $3.839 for unleaded now. Must have been a price war.

YOU can't believe it....I can't believe I've been reading your blog all this time and didn't realize WHO you were!! LOL!!!
You're right about about the coincidence of stepping into line behind you....but boy am I ever glad I did!!
Being on staff at the Escapade we haven't been able to visit people as well as we like. Things will be quiet for an hour or two and then my name will come over the radio or the cell phone will ring and Diane or myself will be busy for a while. Mostly we chase down information or supplies for our teams. We are often in the Hospitality area with our Aloha (Hawaiin) shirts on since mail, coffee and ice cream/popcorn/ice water report to us.
We have managed to go out to dinner with some friends and even bought some things in the market. We haven't looked at the RVs for sale since we are happy with what we have.
The entertainment has been great so far with people staying to the end of the shows instead of leaving early.
We are staying an extra couple days and leaving on Monday.

Unfortunately today we need to be in "uniform", which means Escapade shirts. Diane will be in a blue t-shirt and I will be in a demin shirt. People don't recognize us in anything but Aloha shirts.

Donna: It was good to meet you also. I did recognize you. Jan and GC: Good to finally meet. After closing ceremonies we changed back to our normal attire. The Boomers BOF pizza party was a great success. The "Melodies and Memories" social from 8-10PM worked out but not as many people came as we were hoping, but we had a good time. We are leaving on Monday. Today our only plans are the ice cream and cupcake 30th Anniversary Celebration at 2:30 and the fireworks at night. Other than helping out with some of the teardown and truck loading we are done with the Escapade.

It was good to meet you, too. We are getting ready to move tomorrow and have about the same plans unless we go over to see the Odyssy between 12-2pm since they are opening it up to view. Escapade's been great!
