Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We started our dream to full-time in 2005 but those plans had to take a detour. For 2 long, hard years we waited for the opportunity to begin the dream again. Well it is 2007 and we are only a house contract away from those dreams becoming a reality!! I really enjoy reading everyone's journals/ blogs. It has been the thing that has kept the dream alive these past 2 years. Thanks! Now it is our turn to begin our journal/blog. I have never done anything like this before, heck I only learned how to turn on a computer a few years ago. LOL. Please be patient as I learn how to create this journal but feel free to contact us with any thoughts or suggestions. We are - http://freedom2roll.blogspot.com
You are now officially added to my Google Reader! Great blog so far....I'm going to enjoy following it and look forward to meeting on the road someday!
Did I ever mention that when hubby and I full-timed we were living in Stone Mountain? Sold our house & everything in it - we had a lot of basement storage and now I know we were probably seriously overweight. LOL! Live and learn...
My youngest, her hubby and three grandkids are on their way up from Woodstock today (should be here within the hour). They're picking up the living and bedroom furniture, the 16 totes I have ready for storage and anything else she decides she wants <g>. I get to play with the grandkids (in a TOADILY non-kidproof house that will have no seating/tables) while they do the grunt work. Wish the temps were a bit cooler but oh well, the shower will feel good.
Just found your blog & really enjoyed it. Great job. Congratulations on your new Sea Eagle. May you have many hours of enjoyment with it. We certainly love ours. You have been added to our morning 'must read' group along with several others. It is such fun to follow along with other RV'ers. In addition to getting some great travel ideas, we get to laugh & cry with their experiences. Loved your yard or garage sale comments. I laughed out loud!
For someone who claims not to know much about blogging, I'd say you are off to a really good start. It's nice to hear from an educator, as was my Sandy for 29 years, teaching GT during the last half of her career. We're adding you to our reader.
So glad your dream is coming together and enjoyed reading your blog. Hope we can meet up somewhere along the way. One of the greatest joys to fulltiming is the people you meet along the way. We have a "bunch" of websites/blogs that we follow and if it looks like our paths will cross then we shall get in touch with you.
Happy Trails and keep writing,

Very nice blog Mike and Gerri, your very good writers. Your latest post on FDR brought back a lot of memories, we were there last spring shortly after we started fulltiming and had a dynamite pull through site right on the lake. That also was where we met Howard and Linda. Good luck to you, I've signed up for your feed. Fred
Thanks so much for all the kind words of encouragement.
Karon - Thanks! Looking forward to seeing you on the road!
Leelare - Thanks guys! We are loving our Sea Eagle. Thanks for adding us to your "must read" group.
MCMills - Thanks for the kind words. We are learning! Thanks for adding us to your reader. We will be following you guys also.
Froggi Donna - Thanks for adding us to your Google Reader. Hope you had fun with your grandkids. We've been to Stone Mountain many times and know right where Woodstock is - it is a small world isn't it? Hope we'll meet one day soon. It is fun to follow your journey! We'll keep in touch.
I know I have said this before but thanks to everyone for their support as I attempt to learn how to blog. There is still so much I want to know how to do but I guess I will learn. Thanks for your patience as we wait to sell our house. It is all part of the process of becoming a full-timer, just not the most fun part!
Darrell and Judy - Thanks for the encouraging words. We look forward to meeting you guys, it will happen! We'll keep in touch. We love to read your web and follow along with you all in your journey. Who knows, maybe one day we will be together on a Habitat build.
Fred - Thanks, you are so kind! I e-mailed Jo and told her that we remember when you all were at FDR. We had gone to visit Howard and Linda and they told us about you all. You all were on that first pull thru site right on the lake. Great site! We love following your travels! Great writing!
Gerri and Mike, even though we communicate by email, I really wanted to tell you how much Tony and I are enjoying your website..... keep up the great job!!
Gerri, I continue to be impressed with your writing. You are very good expressing the emotions that so many fulltimers experienced. Just know that all the things that you are feeling will disappear once the "Waiting Game" is over!
