Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

A few people have lost long posts while previewing or in the process of posting.  I know how frustrating that can be, so I'll try to help here.

First of all, I don't have a clue where those things go.  If the post does not show up in the Forum under the topic you were in, they are just gone.

I can't do anything to keep this from happening, but there is a way to protect the loss of all that information.  We have learned that mobile internet systems tend to have pulses and connections can suddenly be lost for a few seconds.  So before we hit "send" on an email or "save" on a Journal entry we ALWAYS highlight all our text, right click the mouse, and click on "Copy" so it is all saved to our computer's clipboard.  Then if something goes wrong, all we have to do is go back in and right click and "Paste" our text again rather than re-typing.

Now, the "right click" thing doesn't seem to work in these Forum posts.  But there is "Copy" icon at the top under the font type and to the right of the little scissors icon.  So before previewing or submitting a long post, it's a good idea to highlight your text and click on the "Copy" icon to save it to a clipboard.  If you lose it, you can come back in and hit the "Paste" icon and your text should be recovered.

Hope that saves some future frustration and re-typing.

That might be determined by the individual computer Howard. I right clicked and copied the quote above. It's worth a try.

The "Right click" works when you are trying to copy something from an already posted entry, but it does not give you the "Copy" option when you right click while composing a post (i.e. trying to copy what you have typed while still in compose mode).

Not so fast... Here's some additional clarification. Yes, this was all verified from the posting REPLY text area.

Under IE7 it seems you DO NOT get the right click mouse copy option BUT the standard windows command of ctrl-c does copy to the clip board and works perfectly. ctrl-v is the paste and ctrl-x is the cut.

Under Firefox 1.5 you DO get the right click mouse option and of course the windows ctrl commands also work.

In both these cases the software (IE or Firefox) controls the mouse but windows commands (like the ctrl functions) will always work.

PS the ctrl-c means hold the control key and press c.
