Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Has anyone checked out the KVH TracVision A5? It's a low profile in-motion satellite TV system for vehicles and is only 5" high! I thinks it's rather expensive, but I like the concept and hopefully the price will come down. Check out the link below:
We have the KVH low profile A5 unit on one of my SUV's at work. It was expensive, but money is no object when you work for Uncle Sam. It works very well, but I have not seen it used in any rain fall conditions, and since the SUV is garaged, no idea if dew distorts the picture.
It is linked to Direct TV and sets up very quickly and only blinks going under a bridge, often so quickly that you hardly notice it. It is so low profile, it only sticks up about 2 inches above the roof racks.
It is on an emergency command SUV, so the vehicle can be turned into an emergency mobile command post. Wish I had it on my RV, but I don't want to spent the $2500 it cost.
Best regards!

No, the Winegard is around $1500. You may be thinking of the Datastorm/Hughes Internet dish, which cannot be used while moving. I was talking about the TV system. I want something to watch when I'm driving down those long, boring roads (just kidding).
Best Regards!
