Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We finally made the move to change Domicile after checking into it before making the move of course. We choose a mail forwarding services and next as a member the mail forwarding service provided the necessary forms to get the wheels in motion. Our choose was Florida. We of course have all our vehicles still financed. That wasn't as bad as we expected since the county we domicile in has to request the titles and the process only took 3 weeks to get titles changed and us get our tags. Next we had to go get our Driver License and that was a breeze too. 30 minutes altogether for the both of us, with only an eye test required. Next we had to register to vote, and that was nice. The receptionist when she read our info says oh you one of those 411 people. She has done this before, the mail service address give us away. She was also from our home town back in NC. Her and her husband had moved to Fl. 15 yrs earlier.
All in all we had a easy change. Most time was spent changing address and info which I did with PC. You can now change mail address online at USPS which is nice. So if your doing this in the future no worries its not bad, so good luck to all in there travels.
We are going to keep using our Physicians at our old home area. Until we need to do different.
I believe Howard did a post (date escapes me) in their journal regarding states using such relationships (patient/doctor) as an excuse to claim residency in a former state for allowing them to nail you with taxes. I'd check into that angle further. FWIW. Probably wouldn't be an issue, but forewarned is forearmed as they say.
