Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Keep us informed, we're hoping to be back in Q by then. Hoping someone will let us know if the crowds start dwindling the weekend of Jan. 23rd so we know if we can come back and I can manage to work from Q for a while.
Count us in! I know "work" is a 4 letter word for most of you, but since it's still an active word in our life, we'll probably arrive between 2 and 3, hopefully some of you will still be there!
Really wanting to be part of the RV Dreamers gathering in Q this year!! Thanks Steve for scheduling this after the big RV show, hopefully when we come back into Q on the 24th some of the crowd will have disappeared and bandwidth will be reasonable, otherwise it might be just a 2 day stop for us so we can attend!
Not sure if we can at the moment but just in case, wouldja mind an outsider from Havasu? That's where we are right now. That wouldn't be a bad day trip.
Lee and I are in. I'll bringing chicken and rice. Somehow I went a little rice crazy so good reason to cook some up. We will try to hold onto some firewood too to donate to the cause.
Can I have one of those in absentia???? MMMM MMMM MMMMMMMM!!!!
Brian
Brian.... I misread this last night...had a little wine..and thought you were coming. Was super excited to finally meet you. My heart is crushed now :)
Indeed, wish we could pop in, thus the comment. Alas Chicagoland is where we are stuck for the time being unless something awesome breaks for us ahead of our planned start date. We live the RV dream, vicariously, through the exploits of others for now.
Bacon wrapped Jalapeno poppers.... candy to me. I had a wistful tear when DebbieM mentioned them.
Trace, I expect we shall cross paths sometime in the foreseeable future... can't wait.
BTW, we'll be bring something for dessert, since we're arriving late I figure you'll all be ready for something sweet by the time we show up.
Steve - we don't generally have any firewood, but happy to bring our propane campfire if it seems like the crowd is going to be big enough that we need more than one source of heat.
Ok, discussed it with the better half and I think we'll be there. Right now, it looks like we'll bring those tortilla pinwheels. Easier to keep something cool than hot/warm. If that changes, I'll let everyone know. Thx.
Thanks Ruth And Dale. I'll let you know if we need the propane fire pit. A few of us have them as well. There isn't a fire pit at the picnic shelter and they may not let us build one so I'll have to confirm. Glad you're going to make it this year!

I checked the picnic shelter area and we would have to have a fire pit like the FERGS brought last year as shown in the above photo. The shelter is surrounded by parking areas. On the positive side we can run our propane firepits in the shelter which is a good thing if the weather turns. I'll bring mine and if you can as well Ruth and Dale we should be good.
unfortunately we are leaving the 25th to head back to the frozen tundra up North. Would love to meet up with ya all though. We have been RV Dreamers since 2007 and fulltime from 2009 - 2014. We are working the Crazy Horse booth (#309) in the big tent, please stop in and say "hi".

I am coming to Quarsite on Tue 1/19.I have no idea where to go. I don't no if I will be there on the 25th.My wife is taking care of her mother in Garden Grove CA.
Any help would be great. Can you fill up with water their? I WOULd like to meet some of you.
Still hoping we can make this work, finally made it back to Q last night, however, not sure how long we'll be able to stay given the awful bandwidth and limited connectivity. Trying to get ready for a work meeting this afternoon (right in the middle of the football games, Dale is so happy about that, NOT!!). Have a client call tomorrow AM and I'm really concerned about connectivity. If this afternoon's internal call doesn't work, we may have to consider another option as the client call tomorrow is important.
Any suggestions regarding how far away from Q we need to go to have reasonable bandwidths? Connectivity is so slow, it's difficult to research other options. We were thinking Buckley HIlls, but not sure how the connectivity is there, but I can't get the Verizon data coverage map to populate right now. We may be showing up at the potluck with the 5th wheel in tow, heading away from Q right after the Dreamers event.
For whatever reason connectivity has been awful this year....yeah we show 4G...but good luck...tried streaming with our Verizon MiFi last night to watch some 24 on Prime and no go.....
It should start loosening up with the show over and lots of folks already heading out....
See you this afternoon!

WOW...what a turnout!! Great food and great company. Hope we have everyone's info correct and haven't forgotten anyone. Quite a few of us did meet Phil and Rudee Rubeck "Workinrvers" the other evening around the campfire. They have been working the Crazy Horse booth at the RV Show all week and had to leave this morning.
Howard and Linda this is a testament to what you have created and continue to foster! We all hope you can make it out west again soon.
So fun to meet many new people and great catching up with old friends!! Sorry we were late, but still happy to see everyone.
Knowing that a lot of people were leaving, we went home and Dale changed a couple of settings in our WiFi Ranger and our connectivity seems to be getting better so fingers crossed, we won't be leaving here tomorrow, maybe giving us a chance to join in a couple of the other social hours this week!
Truly an awesome time! Well done Steve and Dianne on the coordination! So glad the that the picture came out even though the camera went limp (had to be there!)
Thank you to all those great chefs and bakers, hard to keep my svelte Amazon figure with all the goodies that were brought today!

That looks like a great turnout!!! Sooooo sorry we had to bail at the last minute but I haven't been so close to heading towards a ER in a long time the way I was feeling. Had a big pot of chili all ready to go and now,,, well,,, we have a big pot of chili that should last a few days LOL!!
Sure hope a bunch of you will still be around for a few days, would love to say hi and catch up. After getting sick about 5pm on Sunday and spending 85% of yesterday stuck in bed I woke up this morning at 3am hungry which was great because I couldn't hold anything down yesterday and managed to have a few spoons of chicken broth and 2 peach slices all the time thinking about all the great people at the gathering AND all the great food!!!
I tried to get Diane to attend but there was no getting her to leave me, what a gal.
Hdrider so glad to hear that you're feeling better. You guys were missed and you had us quite concerned. Continue getting better...there might be something in the works for this weekend. We'll keep you posted.
We'll be pulling out Thursday, but have enjoyed our first time here in Quartzite this month. Loved meeting back up with old friends and meeting some new ones! Thanks Steve & Dianne for putting things together.
