Yes, when you take a first big step you can feel a little overwhelmed and have a little doubt and that is as it should be, a sort of step back and regroup so that you can review why you are doing this before moving full speed ahead. Did you order a unit to be manufactured? "What are we doing?" Yes, been there.

Nice to hear we're not alone. We're getting a used diesel pusher over the internet. We have a full independent inspection set up. We'll pretty much driving cross country when we pick it up.

You're definitely not alone. We were in the planning stage for 3 years, but when we finally sold the house and drove down to FL to pick up our new home on wheels, we absolutely had a case of "what were we thinking?" It's normal when there's a major lifestyle change, but as Cathy said, you need to regroup and remember what you felt when you first made the decision. Good luck and happy trails!

I was nervous...haven't purchased many things that expensive and it was a major step. A son as we spent a night in it I was sold though :)

Spending THAT MUCH MONEY sight unseen, what are we thinking!
I think if it had been local and we could see it and touch it things would be much easier.
It really does seem like the right rig after 2 years of research and shopping. And I know we will love it.
I just hope the dealer is on the level and there aren't too many surprises. Inspection is Teusday.

Are you going to be there for the inspection and is the sale dependent on what the inspection may reveal? We actually bought a house like this arriving the day of closing and paying cash but it had been inspected and we were familiar with the realtor as we had used her before. It was a foreclosure and we knew it was a little rough. People couldn't believe we were doing that. Frankly, I can't believe we did that either. You have to take some chances in order to move forward and you have done your research and if you love the rig (the dream, etc.), the bumps seem a little less devastating. What were you thinking? You had done your research and this was the right rig. I hope the inspection goes well. I'm guessing you did all the checking you could on the dealer, most are OK and the bad ones really stick out because people get vocal when spending "that much money".

No, we won't be there. The deposit is subject to the inspection. We'll see how easy it is to get back if there are any issues...
The dealer had lots of positive reviews, a couple not so good but you can't make everyone happy.
We had a small bump when he wanted to push us to close by the end of the month to help their numbers. I put a quick stop to that.
I do have a good feeling about the MH and all my other dealings with the salesman.

Sales people seem to always want to rush. Suppose they are anxious to get their commission and to make sure you don't change your mind! It is good that your purchase is subject to the inspection.

After the third piece of inaccurate information, we are done. Cancelled the sale, deposit returned. The search continues.

Gosh, Tom & Mare, I'm sorry but obviously that just wasn't the "one". You'll find one. We have special requirements and have been looking for awhile with nothing in our area. "Third piece of inaccurate information"? Yes, three strikes and you are out!

Well done!! It's better to keep on looking than be tied to a "white elephant."

Update: We took delivery today on our coach! After the fiasco back in August we took a step back and regrouped. We found this older coach ( see our avatar!) locally for a ton less money knowing it wouldn't be the perfect fulltiming rig but enough to get us comfortably out on the road for a year or two while we decide what we really want and need. At that point we can then take our time shopping for that perfect rig in Florida or Arizona without having to chase down internet sales all over the country.

Unlike last time, we are very comfortable with this purchase. No nervous feelings and unknowns like we had on the first one. Just hoping we don't run into too many unforeseen problems with the older coach.

So, we have the winter to get her all cleaned up and ready for weekend/vacation use next summer before we head out fulltiming in the spring of 2016.
