Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Just received our new Keurig coffee pot in the mail. This one does both single cups and carafe. It comes with a nice carafe and a few carafe pods. We are single cup drinkers but if company is over the option to make a carafe is nice.

We love our Keurig, and the huge variety of beverage options available from everywhere now. Thanks for the heads up on this new model - great for those outdoor mornings when you don't want to disturb the spouse by going in and out of the rig for another cup - oh, and for company too I guess ))))).
We've been lucky with the finicky part, even with our very hard water, but good maintenance always pays off.
We haven't dealt with the finicky part yet. This one has a color touch screen where you select strength size and something else. It also has favorites so you can program your cup and not go thru the menu each time. You can also change the colors of the LEDs in the tank by selecting in the menus, red blue green and yellow. It is a thermo carafe to some extent. You can also set it up to have your coffee brewed when your feet hit the floor. For some reason Keurig sent this to us gratis. For that price I am certainly satisfied.

A bit curious to learn more about that. They sent to you gratis... out of the blue? If so, how do we get one too?

Thats what my DW tells me when she buys something but doesn't want me to know she bought it....
So far we've gotten "gratis" a new laptop, iPad, Flat Screen TV and Lexus SUV (I couldn't believe that Lexus would just give away a car).... I'm hoping for a new 5th wheel or Bus next.

Brian,
If we get one "gratis," I'll get your address and send it to you. One of my wife's sisters and a cousin of my wife have the Keurig coffee makers and I hate them. Even the "large" mug size for dispensing isn't enough for my insulated mug. Plus, I'd bet my Folgers Classic Roast is a lot cheaper than buying all those little containers of "froo-froo" coffee/chocolate/other crud.
Jo ordered a Cuisinart unit with carafe and single cup brewing. She can have her choice of how much hot water she can dispense on the single-serve side (capacity of 54 ounces in the reservoir), and I can choose how much coffee in the 12-cup carafe side that I want. Best of both worlds.

I have no doubt you're right about the Folgers being a lot cheaper than the "froo-froo" stuff. Cindi is the coffee drinker, but to my untrained eye it seems like she always starts a cup but never finishes it. So my economical eye says even that equation is suspect. Maybe the froo-froo smaller cups would actually get consumed, it could, in theory, be more economical. There certainly is the novelty factor. I always liked the Swiss Miss Dark Chocolate pouches myself.

So we have been buying our coffee directly from Keurig since we got our first one. About $60 a month. I think that might have something to do with it. We don't drink froo froo. We drink a very strong Italian roast while the MIL drinks a lighter coffee. We each drink two cups a day except on weekends. That's the best part, different strokes for different folks without making a whole pot. It might cost a little more but I don't mind. I don't drink cheap beer either.

Started buying our K-cups from Amazon at about .50/cup, no excess packaging, and free shipping. We only have two cups a day, and while not quite "coffee-snobs" (like my son), we can't do the cheap stuff anymore.
Like so many things these days, isn't it grand that there are so many options just for making a cup of coffee??? And all of them have further options that are perfect for an RV.......
Note that the Keurig 2 requires properly barcoded cups, so offbrand k-cups will not work with it. This is a showstopper for some, including a relative who is a bargain hunter.

Bill, I agree. We had to get our old one out to finish up some Keurig that were manufactured before June or January. When you put the old ones or other brands in it it displays "oops" on the display. I have nicknamed it the iPot because, like Apple, Keurig seems to want all the control.

I love my new Keuring 2.0 , I also got extra filters for changeing. It does both single cup and carafe. It also makes cold rinks and hot tea as well. Wonderful machine.
I'm with you Terry ...love my Maxwell house..plus we have a BUNN coffee maker which has a hot water reservoir and makes a pot of coffee in 2 minutes flat. We are pretty serious about our coffee. I will say I saw the combination single cup and carafe Kuerig's though and found them intriguing. Sometimes you just want one cup
Now we use an espresso machine, but we had a single cup coffee maker that used normal coffee grinds. Walmart.com has choices - http://www.walmart.com/c/kp/single-cup-coffee-makers. K-cups are convenient, but do cost more than buying ground or whole bean coffee.

Yea I have to use 2 k cups as well I have a BIG mug. I have settled on the Green Mountain Breakfast Blend for myself. I also keep the carafe on hand as well.
We both love big mugs of coffee but I can't stand to drink anything made from coffee that's already ground and has been sitting around for who knows how long. I NEED great coffee and so the only way to get the freshest taste is to grind your own beans. Whole beans have a much longer shelf life than ground coffee and you certainly can taste the difference. The only thing is that when Hubby makes coffee he makes such a mess with grinds that I fully expect to see the outline of his shoes in coffee grinds on the floor leading to the door. Can you still put the little cup into the most recent models of the Keurig with your own ground coffee in it?
