Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well I guess this is really happening! After a month of frantic painting, repairing, and cleaning, we signed the papers today to sell the house. We have purchased a Ford F350 dually to pull our Arctic Fox 32-5M. Our realtor thinks the house will sell quickly (fingers crossed). If so, we will stay in the 5er here in Colorado for a couple of months while we finish up at our current jobs, then hit the road! Woohoo! It's exciting and scary all at once. We are excited to meet many of you at the spring rally in TN (which by the way is where my grandchildren are, so added bonus ). We have been purging stuff for several months now so hopefully the move into the RV won't be too overwhelming. This forum has been incredibly helpful as we have been researching and learning and having so many questions, so I just want to thank all of you for your wonderful, caring personalities and willingness to answer everyone's questions (which have benefited us). I feel honored to be joining such an amazing group of people!
Jo

Thanks everyone! It sure was strange to see that for sale sign outside our house. Hoping for a quick sale for all of us in this stage of the adventure :)

We are a month away from listing. We will hopefully meet in TN at the rally - I'd like to hear your thoughts on nursing while full-timing - I'm a RN with a psychology degree too, LOL.

The waiting is stressful. We had one showing today but heard nothing about it. We have another showing tomorrow morning! Thanks for all the good wishes.
Linda, let's definitely meet up at the rally. I think we are in site #222. We have a little experience with doing travel nursing already and think it will be a great way to be full-timers! I'd be happy to talk with you anytime about it. Are you working in psych now?
Ok, taking deep breaths, will continue to post our updates :)

I don't remember what site number we are - but we will meet up.
I am currently doing intensive case management with Medicare folks. I did psych nursing directly for about 15 or so years, then I went to Hospice and now case management. Anyway, I will love to talk.
In the meantime, I think you guys know that intense focusing on any and all look-see's on your house will only contribute to your anxiety and stress -LOL- remind me I said that when we list our house okay? Hopefully both yours and ours will be sold by rally time! In the meantime, I am resuming my yoga

Two full price offers! We are under contract. Wow, what a ride! Can't wait to meet everyone at the rally, and hope everyone else getting ready to list their houses have equally good results :)

We are still pinching ourselves. There are a number of houses in our area that have been sitting on the market for months. I was expecting it to take at least a month or two. Imagine my surprise when the phone started ringing the day the house went on the market to request appointments for showings. We worked our butts off fixing it up and painting and getting it looking great. This is apparently a great time to list since there is a shortage of nice houses on the market, and people needing to buy now have little to choose from. The first offer was full price but wanting us to pay $4000 of their closing costs. The second offer was $7000 over asking but with us paying $7000 in closing costs for them, making it the asking price. We were afraid the house would not appraise for that much and the deal would fall through later. We let the first people know that if they would drop the request for the $4000 closing costs and give us full price they could have the house, and they readily agreed. We wanted them to have it anyway, it's our local fire chief :)
Price them right, get them on the market before the spring rush of sales if possible and they will sell. Sending our fast-sale mojo to all of you :)
