Can't go wrong with a positive attitude. Well, you have me in your corner cheering you onward. January is probably a good month to get the house on the market because our realtor always said a lot of people use their tax refunds to help jumpstart their home ownership. Hoping all moves quickly and smoothly.

Good Luck with moving forward with your next step!  We will be right behind you, listing our house late February or early March.   Hope we both sell quickly and for a good price!  Actually I think there are quite a few of us on here planning to list this spring.  Hope the housing market can handle all the new listings!  I can hardly wait til it sells and my husband can give notice!

Jim - it was very bittersweet. Fortunately, my boss is going to keep me on as a consultant -- as a client of my new company! Not a lot of business but I'll take any small bone that's thrown to me right now!

Sherry - definitely scary. I think the hardest part for today is the utter chaos in the house. For example, in order for the contractors to lay the floors, all furniture has to be moved. To replace the kitchen counters, all the drawers and stuff inside the cabinets need to be emptied. All closets need to be emptied to put the flooring in there. So where do you put all the furniture and contents of drawers, cabinets and closets? Anywhere else in the house where there's an inch of open space!!! Needless to say, this place truly looks like a tornado came through. There isn't a place in this house that's not full of clutter. Mind you, one of my major flaws is that I can't handle clutter. I get stressed out if there's a stray paper clip out of place (don't ask how many fights me and Mitch have when he takes off his shoes or socks and just drops them where ever they land, sometimes even in the middle of the hallway!!!) I am working very, very hard to control the stress emotions regarding the chaos. Ain't easy, but I'm focusing on the big picture -- that 99.9% of the stuff laying around will be organized into neat piles -- to give away, to throw away or to pack for the RV (which probably won't be more than a few boxes worth). Actually no throw away pile as the dumpster should be delivered today.

About my now former job -- it was a UK based company.  At its peak about 5 years ago, there were 100 employees globally with about 30 in the US.  Downsizing began when the economy went south, and by last year there were 7 people on staff globally, with me as the only person left in the US.  Not having any growth, they decided to close down the US office.  I saw the handwriting on the wall a few years ago and started my own business, which I really couldn't pursue as there was no time due to my full time job.  The RV-Dream plan was that I would be the one giving notice and offering for them to be a client of my new business - at my own pace, in my own time.  I wasn't really prepared for it to be the other way around.  But deep down, this really didn't take me by surprise; I knew it would happen sooner or later, I just didn't expect sooner.  But like I've been saying all along, sometimes it takes a shake-down event to get us moving along the path we belong on.  Who knows how much longer my own pace would have taken?   This forces us to get a move on faster because selling the house is no longer only because we need the $ to buy the rig, but because we can't afford to pay the mortgage without my job.
