Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Update: job for husband did not come through. Recall I am being made redundant from my job at the end of the month. Original plan was to finish fixing up the house and have it ready for the market in the spring. Now we need to use those funds to pay the bills, which may last 2-3 months if we're lucky. Need to sell the house REAL FAST.
Since it may be hard to find a place to rent to 2 unemployed folks with fair to bad credit, plus the fact that neither of us have any strings attached to a corporate office or even family in the area, why not start the dream NOW? With my unemployment and his pension, it will give us time for me to build my business up and survive on the road, albeit somewhat frugally.
So next step after the sale is figuring out what rig to buy, which will depend on how much, if anything, we have left over. We've wanted this for almost 3 years; maybe it took this event to push us closer to the finish line. Not sure whether to be really scared now, or excited.
Will keep you posted! And thanks again for all your prayers and good wishes and great advice in all your other posts!

Im thinking about you!!!.....keep calm and remember....a clear mind will see a clear vision , and there is always great starter deals out here. Sometimes its better to start out with the big dreams , and then pull out on the road with an affordable reality !!!

Agree totally with Lucky Mike and sending you heartfelt wishes for a good sale and growth in your business. Some Workamper (but not many) positions offer housing. Might a park near you offer a park model in exchange for work?

Cheryl B. It maybe isn't a set back at all; just a way to get the Dreams started sooner! Check out workamper.com and Coolworks.com. There are some jobs that offer housing! I will add remain as positive an attitude as you can; it works wonders. PIEERE

Definitely keeping a positive attitude. Mike, Pieere and so many others here that continue to be an inspiration to me - who prove that challenges CAN be overcome!.
Thanks for the links, Pieere.

sounds a little too familiar to me. DW was laid off after 18 years, they "cleaned out" her whole department only keeping the two youngest, lesser paid employees (thanks, Hartford Insurance!). We had already sold the house and were living in the rig so that helped, even so we headed out a couple years earlier then we expected and with less $$'s then we had but we are loving life living and work camping on the road (over 2 years now).
