Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are almost ready to go! We started this journey on June 13, 2013 & our goal is to leave Colorado by Halloween. We have been soooo busy, exchanging our current life for our new life! Thank you for all the valuable information in this forum, it really saved our sanity!
We picked up our 5'er on September 25th and headed out to a locale resort for our training! Seriously we invested in a professional trainer who taught us to drive our new rig and we learned a lot, what we learned most was that WE CAN DO THIS!
The 5'er is currently back at the dealer after our initial shakedown but only a couple of minor repairs were needed and should be ready to hitch up again around October 20th, then where are we off too...........stay tuned
Congratulations fellow Colorado residents! We are putting the house on the market early January, and are starting to feel like we have a lot to do and time is running out! Would love to know where you went with the new 5er and who you hired to train you. Good luck in your travels!

RJ and Melinda, congratulations!! We are right behind you in hoping to escape another cold snowy winter by the end of December. We are in Ohio so not near as much snow as Colorado but understand your need to escape it!

Congrats. I would love to know along with Ben and Jo where you got your 5er and professional trainer. I am still trying to convince the wife we can do this.
We are still in Colorado and have gotten hung up on the work front, but we are not deterred! We have decided we are going to pull the 5er to an RV park in Golden and commute to our current jobs in the south metro area. We went back and forth on if we stay in the apartment for another 1 to 4 months if we can't get out of Colorado and winter keeps us here or choose to start living in our 5th wheel......we have gotten rid of all our possessions and are holed up in this apartment using the outdoor recliner chairs, and air mattress, the country china (paper plates & foil pans....& yes those we will continue to use) so why are we NOT actually in our HOME .....we will be in our new home (the 5th wheel) whatever happens in just about 3 weeks!
Still hoping for a warmer destination but we are still doing this even if it Is a Colorado winter destination!
Wow! that 5er is going to seem like a mansion compared to the Apartment. Good way to do it though; hoping you both the best and happy travels. You'll be doing the happy Dance Soon!

Finally we are doing this!! We are making the move this holiday weekend, the weather is gorgeous, we have plenty of time off work and everything just seems to be right at this point. We will be in Colorado until the next opportunity is before us but we count this a huge blessing in that we will have the security of knowing the local area, have our jobs (thus money and benefits) friends who support us and some who, well let's say challenge us.
So excited, a little apprehensive and so very thankful we are moving forward on the journey. I am sure we will be asking lots of questions and seeking your advice, wisdom and support frequently!
