Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have my 2011 Cameo for sale on the Carriage Forum. I have received an inquiry from RV Wholesalers Inc in Alberta,BC. The guy seemed on the up and up, website checks out, etc. He said that he would wire the money to my bank and would not take possession for at least two weeks to assure that all finances and paperwork were complete to my satisfaction. I am leaning towards just passing and waiting for a more traditional transaction. Thoughts, experience, advise.
You said he wanted to wire the money to your bank. Does that mean you would have to give him your account information? If so, I might sell it to them, especially if he is paying what you asked, but I would ask for a check instead. I really don't like to give out bank account info to strangers.
I agree but in this case it would be paying off the bank note. His words were to get wiring instructions from the loan officer but I agree I would never give him my bank account information. I like the idea of a check.
There is a scam out there where they claim to have sent money, and then say that a mistake was made and too much money was sent, so they need you to send some back. But then, when all the money transactions have cleared, you find out that their's didn't clear and that you've sent them money, but they haven't sent you any. In addition you can end up paying fee's because their wire transaction didn't actually clear. This one sends up my scam alert instincts and if I were you, I'd probably wait for a more traditional transaction.
Get his banking info.....have your bank officer contact his bank officer to make the transaction......if this in part is to pay off the note the check or transaction will have to be in yours and the banks name and it puts half of the responsibility on the bank and they hold title.......trust me if its a scam they will be putting up the biggest flag!!! and they will know it before he signs the line.........................
