Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

There are public hotspots all over, and there all sorts of resources that come and go for finding them (we usually just turn on our WiFiRanger and sniff them out).

There are tons of options for keeping connected as you roam, and as to what will work best for you will be how essential it is that you get online on your schedule, versus when you find available signals. Also what your budget is for connectivity.

Internet is essential to our livelyhood as we work online - so we have a pretty big budget to keep many options open to us. But you can certainly keep decent connectivity for less expenditure.

furious When driving a commercial truck through Iowa I notice the rest areas there have free wifi. Didn't see it anywhere else from Maine to Texas or anywhere else. Are hotspots common and where would they be at? If a business has wifi like a Mcdonalds or hotel would you be able to pick up their wifi? I haven't done a lot of computer stuff on the road however; we will be going fultime and need to find out so that bill paying online and e-mails can be retrieved. Plus job hunting and entertainment as well. What are my options to get connected and is it secure for such things as paying bills? Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate your help.  Gary

Thanks Cherie, There is a fantastic amount of information there and I will have to spend quite awhile figuring it all out. Although functional on a computor I am a dinosaur compared to the new technology. Don't even have text messaging and never sent one or recieved one. Some of the terms used are greek to me but I like learning new things and I have a place to go (you and chris) if I want to put something together. I appreciate the information and I'm sure I'll be contacting you for more info. Thanks Gary
