Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Do you have a RV "bible"?

I have started putting together what I call my RV "bible". A big binder with tabs where I plan to store instructions manuals, insurance contract, guarantees, useful phone numbers, membership cards, etc... when I need something it's always "now" and I like the idea to have all handy in one place.

I was wondering if you have such a repository and what kind of information and documents you store in it.

Thanks for sharing!

Patricia

In our case, our Mobile Suites came with owner's manuals for the coach and for EVERY little component within it.  It takes a file box about 5" to 6" thick just to hold those manuals.  So, there is no way all that could go into a binder.

We prefer to not keep everything in one place - as the documents serve different functions and are needed in different capacities.

In our office area we keep all of our bus' original manuals from when it was in service as a passenger highway bus - which come in quite handy often. We also have all of the manuals for appliances, etc. This is kept in our office because it's our research area with plenty of desk space and access to our computers for cross referencing things.

We keep our legal documents (insurance binders, title, bill of sale, etc.) in our safe.

Near the driver compartment we have an overhead bin where we keep:
- Insurance card
- A small wallet with all our camping membership cards, right next to our checkbook for those campgrounds that are cash/check only - easy grab and go for when checking in.
- Small bin with quarters and dollar bills for both tolls and laundry money.

We also photograph most of this stuff, plus all our receipts, and post it to our Evernote account - which syncs to both our computers, iPhones and iPad - so we have access to it everywhere.

We have a "RV bible" with just the owner manuals for everything, receipts and contact names in it. It took a 4" "D" ring binder to hold everything. Used plastic sleeves for the smaller manuals and we found 8.5 X 11" business card sleeves to hold cards. I also organized it by category using tab dividers to find things easier. Help us by keeping everything trailer related together and easy to store in one of the overhead cabinets.

Actually mine is the King James version! On a more lighter note; haven't quite thought about it as a 'Bible'; more like an organizer.
Have a portable file with dividers in it; getting the use of it is the trick as it always seems easier to lay the paperwork on the table and promise to put it away before I move. I put it away; but generally not in the file; LOL! Isn't that what cardboard boxes for? Yes: I'll get around to it; someday! Pieere
