Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

New guy saying howdy

Howdy all. Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself and say howdy. I'm Brian (nicknamed Bulldog from my police academy days) from Elbe, Washington. I'm an ex-police sergeant/heavy equipment operator/professional musician/race car driver/aerobatic biplane pilot/and recently became a chiropractic assistant (jack of all trades-master of none - and still don't know what I want to be when I grow up!). smile  My wife, Jody and I are getting things arranged to be able to retire in 2, possibly 3 years, and then going to hit the road full-time with a GMC duramax dually and a Bighorn 5th wheel. We can't wait to jump in the "Mayflower" and hit the road for beautiful areas yet to be explored! I have been lurking here for a while now and have gotten some very valuable info which is greatly appreciated. I look forward to talking with y'all from time-to-time and becoming part of the RV family.

Welcome Brian and Jody,

First of all thanks for your service to your community as a police officer.  Second, we are glad to have you in the RV Dreams forums as a participant instead of a lurker.

Since you have been lurking for a while, you are probably aware that we all welcome questions and comments.  So feel free to participate by providing us both.

However, you will have to change your signature statement as I am over 11 years older than you.  So, using your own signature statement, you don't have a chance.

OK. That was kidding.....except for the part about me being more than 11 years older.

Terry

Hey Bulldog. I was with Orange County Sheriff's department for 5 years and currently reserve Sworn officer with the Fairfax County Police Dept. Although they called me yondog. A name given to me when I served in the Marine Corps. Maybe some day we'll meet up At a rally. Best of luck And welcome Yondog

Welcome to the forum Brian and Jody.
You will find this group to be friendly and just about as diverse as your resume.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! My wife and I are looking forward to "hitting the road" in the future, and it would be great to meet up with fellow forum members.

Lol Terry! wink I actually borrowed it from my father, who had painted it on the back of his race car so the other drivers behind him knew not to mess with him! hehe

Yonnie, thank you too for your service!  Just before I graduated from high school I had signed up to be a Marine too, but unfortunately, some personal issues came up that kept me from getting sworn in so I didn't complete the process. I always look back wondering how things might have changed had I been a Marine back then?

Also, thank you to everyone else who replied. I'm definitely looking forward to reading about everyone's adventures, and tips and tricks, here on the forum.
