Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Get ready for another round of LTE launches everyone!
Last week Verizon Wireless launched 4G LTE in 28 new markets and they're already announcing new launch markets set to go live on August 18th. The list below has been compiled by Droid Life and isn't official yet, but indicated by a variety of sources. Verizon's 4G LTE network is designed to deliver between 5-12Mbps down and 2-5Mbps up.
Here is the official list - Tucson, Ariz.; Fayetteville/Springdale/Rogers, Ark.; Bakersfield and Salinas/Monterey/Seaside, Calif.; Fort Collins, Colo.; Frederick, Md.; Worcester, Mass.; Omaha, Neb./Council Bluffs, Iowa; Albany, Ithaca and Syracuse, N.Y.; Altoona and Johnstown, Pa.; Memphis, Tenn.; and Provo, Utah. The company is also expanding its 4G LTE network on Thursday in Washington, D.C.; Tampa, Fla.; Atlanta, Ga.; Baltimore, Md.; Boston, Mass.; Lansing, Mich.; New York, N.Y.; Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio; and Salt Lake City-Ogden, Utah.
Matt, I know this has been discussed before somewhere but can a MiFi 2200 crd receive 4G service? If not can I upgrade at no charge under a current Verizon plan?

No, the MiFi 2200 is a 3G only modem and you'd need to upgrade to a 3G/4G device like the Mifi 4510L. There are cheaper devices, but this would be the best one that offers you the same feature set as the MiFi 2200 plus a 3G/4G antenna port!
We had a MiFi 2200 3G and then here a while back Jo was helping the wife of one of our National Guard officers who was being deployed. (He is one of Jo's co-workers.) Anyway, after seeing the speed of the new 4G unit, we upgraded to one ourselves. It works very good.
We have a trip planned to the Colorado Springs area in October, so it looks like we'll get to see if we can get 4G outside of the city itself. We'll be at Mountaindale RV Park, which is about 15 miles from Colorado Springs.

Mountaindale will not be covered by the 4G roll out. Neither will Woodland Park, where I am now.
