Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Bought this coach with a whole filing cabinet full of books........except for the satellite. We cannot get a connection for some reason. There is an on screen set up but the dish keeps turning and screen appears locked (maybe froze up like my computer does sometimes) Any advice, links, phone numbers(or maybe a big hammer) would be appreciated.
Is this a new antenna or did you buy it with a used RV? If used it may not be set for DirecTV. See if the manuals available on this page helps. http://www.kvh.com/Leisure/RV-Systems/Television/North-America/TracVision-R4-SL.aspx Also, if you brought this receiver from your home you may have it set to the wrong type of satellite setup. You need to go into the receiver setup menu and select 18" round and multiswitch (SWM is a killer). I assume you know you cannot get any HD programming with that dome (any dome) through DirecTV so you want to set everything up as though you only need to point to the one satellite you can receive which is 101.
The antenna was on our coach when we bought it. Called TracVision and they said most of these were set for DirecTV from the factory and that they could troubleshoot it if it isn't(didn't know the serial number when we called) We bought the receiver today. The menu setup gave a lot of options and we tried 7 of them. Didn't try the 18" round and multiswitch so that will be next. Didn't know about the HD. Thanks for your help.
You are welcome. Anything other than multiswitch will fail. A couple of the other options might work but 18" round is the most likely setting to work with your dome.
