Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Crockpot Cake

Is it my imagination, or was there some conversation about a crockpot cake at the rally potluck?  I thought I saw something about a cake everyone was raving about, but I can't find anything now either here or on the RV Dreams Journal.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

1. Spray inside of Crock Pot with cooking spray

2. Combine cake mix, sour cream, chips, water, eggs, oil and pudding mix in slow cooker, mix well.

3. Cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours. Serve hot or warm with ice cream if desired.

This one is not from the Rally, but instead one that Linda got from "Gooseberry Patch" on the Internet.

18 1/2 oz. package white cake mix.

3.4oz instant vanilla pudding

3 eggs

1 cup oil

1 cup water

6 oz white chocolate chips

1. Grease slow cooker. Mix together all ingredients and pour into slow cooker.

2. Cover and cook on high for 5 hours

3 . Serve in a bowl topped with ice cream or whipped cream.

Serves 8 to12 people.

Can also be made with chocolate cake mix, chips and pudding, or experiment with other flavors like butterscotch or lemon.

1/2 Cup Quick-Cooking Oats
1 Package (3-1/2 ounces) cook-and-serve Butterscotch Pudding Mix
1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1/2 Cup Butter
Vanilla Ice Cream (optional)

Place apples in a 3-qt crock pot.

In a large bowl. combine the Brown Sugar,Flour, Oats, Pudding Mix and Cinnamon.

Cut in Butter until mixture resembles course crumbs.

Sprinkle over apples.

Cover and cook on low for 5 to 5 1/2 hours or until Apples are tender.

Serve with Ice Cream!!!!

Thanks everyone.  I ended up making the Decadent Chocolate Delight and it was delicious and well received by our guests.

Is anyone familiar with a cobbler type cake usually made in a dutch oven that uses fruit pie filling, cake mix and soda pop?

Sure here it is.....

Spray crockpot with Pam

Add 3/4 c. old fashioned oats
1/4 c brown rice
1/4 c barley
1 teas. cinnamon
1 teas. vanilla
4 c water

Stir all together. Cook overnight. Add 1 cup frozen blueberries and cook another hour.

I find sometimes it is too dry so I add more water in the morning when adding the berries.

Hungry!!!!  These recipes are making my mouth water!  I try to use my crock pot as much as possible - found this recipe today and can't wait to try it!  We're eating low-carb, so a quiche is just the perfect dish.

Southwestern Style Sausage & Egg Quiche Serves/Makes:   12

Ingredients:
18 eggs
1 small can green Ortega chilis
1 pound cooked breakfast sausage
2 1/2 cups grated Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack cheese
1 medium onion -- diced
1 green pepper -- diced
1 teaspoon butter

Directions:

Grease crock with butter. Starting with sausage, layer meat, chilis, onions, peppers and cheese, repeating the layering process until all ingredients are used and ending with a layer of cheese. Beat eggs, then pour over mixture in the slow cooker. Cover and turn on low. Cook for 7-8 hours. Serve with sour cream or fresh salsa.

Yum!

I regularly make an "overnight breakfast casserole" but making one in a crockpot is an excellent idea! Thanks!

Jo, we used to make a cake like that w/ bisquick, butter, milk, and pie filling (cherry, peach, or apple.).  Probably sugar too.  Now I can't find the recipe, but man was it good.  Just mix it all in a dutch oven.  Serve w/ vanilla ice cream.  Have to start searching for it.

I make one alot in a dutch oven but not with soda pop.

1 #10 can of peaches

1 yellow cake mix

1 stick real butter

Pour the #10 can of peaches into the dutch oven.  Sprinkle the cake mix over the top of the peaches.  Slice the stick of butter into patties and distribute them all over the top of the cake mix.  Cook at 350 for about 45 minutes.   It's great.  You can also use any fruit pie filling mix the same way but using a pie filling mix, you would need to use the soda pop for the moisture for the cake mix.  I use either sprite or 7up when I use pie filling.  Do it the same way.  Pie filling followed by the cake mix then the soda pop over the top.  Enjoy.
