Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
for at least the next 6 mo. We have given up our stick and brick for the next 6 mo.
Last year, we stayed out of our stick and brick for 2 mo. and realized that it was so freeing and so incredibly freeing, that we found a brand new RV park that had just opened who was taking 6 mo. leases, just 14 miles from the main city and within 6 miles each way to two other towns.
Our lease is from April 15-Oct 15. As we cleaned out our apt. we gave so much away and it was awesome! We have realized that you really don't need all the stuff you have, you need basics.
We live in a 30 ft. travel trailer.

Congratulations on your move towards freedom! Where are you located? Your profile says Omaha. I spent a 8 years at Offutt AFB and hope to get back there one of these days. Whats the name of the new RV park and where is it located?

Congratulations! Hope everything works out for you on your new adventure. You are right when you make this kind of move you find out real quick what you need and what is not neccessary...
Isn't that the truth! We gave up Stix and Brix 4 months ago and now live in our Fiver. No grass to mow, no leaves to rake, less bills, more free time. Although I do somewhat miss jumping on the lawn mower. If fact, I will go to the house Monday, weather permitting, and mow. My daughter and finace are buying the house. Over two acres of lawn. I stopped by there today - it needs it. No promises I will do it all, but will make a large dent in it.
I have been stationed at Offutt (98-2002), moved to the Azores (02-04), moved to Norfolk NE with very little and divorced, met the Man God gave me for a life time, moved back to Omaha about 5 years ago, and now live out by the KOA, Linoma Beach, and before Ashland NE. It is called Riverside RV Camp.

Congrats on your new adventure. It is the most freeing feeling, though we are still working full time and commute to work 14 miles. We will be sad when we have to move back to town for the winter as we do not have winter coverings. Thanks for sharing.
