Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have a stationary, auto find satellite King Dome on my new Winniebago Journey and I'd like to upgrade it to an in motion unit.
My dealer wants $1500 to do it, Camping World sells the upgrade parts for about $700 plus a $150 installation fee.
Has anybody ever upgraded their satellite dome to in motion? Was it much trouble? I can't see how it could be that big of a deal, I'm pretty handy with tools, my biggest problem would be not falling off the ladder.
Any words of advice would be appreciated!
Best Regards!

I just had the in motion kit installed in my exisiting King Dome last week. So far, it works great on the highway, but is bothered by trees, bridges and mountains, which is to be expected.
All in all, I'm very happy with it and the grandkids should love to watch their cartoons and other shows while we travel.
I did take a 2 year repair warranty with it as was recommended by a couple of friends who have experience with it. All tolled, the kit was $599, the install was $75, misc. supplies about $30 and the warranty $114. I don't nomally take warranties, but it seemed a good idea on this.
You do have to get the sat signal first while stationary, once you get the signal, you push the "Track" button and away you go. :c)
Best Regards!
